Going it alone? Partner Up!

Tired of going it alone? Partner Up!Have you given any thought to joining efforts with another person or several people to form a team?

There are many things that should be considered before making the commitment:

  • Trust: This has to be established before making any decision to go forward as partners. You must trust!
  • Likeminded goals: Be sure your goals are closed matched. Otherwise the partnership will be unbalanced.
  • Work ethic: Your partner should share the same work standard that you possess and is willing to push to gain measureable results.
  • Being a teamplayer: Make sure the people you invite into your team are willing to work with others in order to achieve a positive outcome. Me, me, me will not work!
  • Temperament: As a team, your partner's ability to resolve problems with patience, avoiding outbursts of anger is necessary for team harmony. Vent frustrations in private.

There are many advantages to teaming up, such as:

  • Someone is always available. If one person is out of town, the other takes over the business to ensure everything continues to get done and deadlines are met.
  • Combining of talents. Say, if a person has strong marketing / advertising skills, then that is a professional advantage to a team. If someone has excellent spoken skills, then that also contributes to make the team stronger by improving listing appointments.
  • More clients. By utilizing each others skills and becoming a driving force, more business will come your way and you will get more referrals. That results in more sales!

This has been my experience with my team. I have to say I am very lucky that I have found someone who possesses some great qualities!

Becoming part of a team may be a great alternative to going it alone! Give it some thought!

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Let's PLAY!

Speehless Sunday: Let's PLAY!

For those of you who haven't met Diana...this is the newest member of my brother's family! She is a Westie and is absolutely adorable and wants to PLAY--ALL--THE--TIME!

He takes her to the dog park, where she is free to run and play and meet new friends every day! She loves the attention she gets by people passing along the street to and from the park.

I look forward to meeting her and saying...LET'S PLAY!

Happy Sunday to you all!

Friday Funnies: 50 / 50

Friday Funnies: 50 / 40A young man saw an elderly couple sitting down to lunch at McDonald's. He noticed that they had ordered one meal and an extra drink cup.

As he watched, the gentleman carefully divided the hamburger in half, then counted out the fries, one for him, one for her, until each had half of them. Then he poured half of the soft drink into the extra cup and set that in front of his wife. The old man then began to eat, and his wife sat watching, with her hands folded in her lap.

The young man decided to ask if they would allow him to purchase another meal for them so that they didn't have to split theirs. The old gentleman said, "Oh no. We've been married 50 years, and everything has always been and will always be shared, 50/50."

The young man then asked the wife if she was going to eat, and she replied, "It's his turn with the teeth."

Thankful Thursdays: GOT HAIR? Donate to Locks of Love!

Thankful Thursdays: Locks of Love

I was feeling the need for a change after having surgery due to the Blahs, so I called and made an appointment to get my hair done.

While I was there, I thought maybe I'd try a different hairstyle and well...This week I donated my hair to a great cause, Locks of Love!

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

For more information on Locks of Love, go to: http://www.locksoflove.org

I am thrilled to know that I donated my hair to such a worthy cause...to help children feel better about themselves!

Special thanks to Katie Reeder, owner of Studio 359 hair salon.
