How did Charlotte real estate market (and all of Mecklenburg County) fare in December 2007? Not too badly.
For single family Charlotte NC homes, the average sales price was 96.47% of list price and average days on market countywide was 77 days.
South Charlotte continues to sell more quickly (average 56 days on market) and Northwest Charlotte showed the longest average days on market at 85.
Since Uptown Charlotte NC real estate is home to predominantly condos and townhomes, that category deserves mention as well. Countywide, condos/townhomes had an average sales price 97.88% of list price and average days on market of 63. Uptown Charlotte likely skewed that average though since Uptown's average days on market were 19!!! Northeast Charlotte had the longest average days on market at 103.
What does this mean? During one of the traditionally slower months of the year, Charlotte NC real estate continues to sell, houses are not (on average) sitting on the market for an extended time and sellers are getting very close to list price on their homes.
