2008 | The Rooster
Take a walk through the maze (or run if it's not too hot)! We haven't permanent lost anyone in eight years, so don't worry. Then visit with our farm animals, take a hayride, play games, or just hang out. Stop by the nostalgia corner in the barn, and don't forget to stop by the farm shop for goodies to take home.
Our five acre maze has over two miles of trails - with appropriate shortcuts of course! There are rest stops in the maze, and we offer wagons to pull the little ones along. Ticket-holding mazers get a FREE gift for completing the maze.
This year's maze design is a rooster. For centuries, the rooster was known as the "evil chicken" and the "ferocious clucker" as they have been known to chase anyone approaching their pens or their hens. Actually roosters play a really important role on a farm, especially when it comes to alerting the hens and other farm animals that a predator is near. They are the "watch dogs" of farm animals. They crow and squawk and dance...and they are good leaders. The problem comes when you have more than one rooster and the group must decide who is going to be the leader. This is called "pecking order," and roosters take it very seriously. Once a rooster has become the leader, he stays the leader until either a new, bigger, stronger and more influential rooster comes along, or until he is too old to lead - and if this happens, the second in command rooster takes over. Roosters are beautiful and often-times quite colorful.

Richard Heene The father of a 6-year-old Colorado boy whose disappearance held the country in thrall when it was believed he was trapped in a 20-foot "homemade flying saucer" that floated thousands of feet into the air. The boy, Falcon Heene, was found hiding in a cardboard box in an attic above the family's garage. Richard Heene, a storm chaser, and his wife Mayumi Heene, twice appeared on the ABC show "Wife Swap."
I am very glad Falcon is safe!

Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Maryland is a non-profit 501(3)(c) all volunteer organization dedicated to finding homes for golden retrievers in need in St. Mary's, Calvert and Charles counties. Golden Retriever Rescue of Southern Maryland is such a kind and giving group of volunteers who have such big hearts. They do not have a facility and hopefully one day from the generosity of others and donations they will be able to find a home for themselves in order that they may continue to help more Golden Retrievers.

For all those that have been waiting, I don't think it is going to get better than this. Home Pirices have declined from 30-70% across the nation. Rates are historically low and should rise due to the new government debt. Rates are expected to go up over the next three years because of inflation and over supply of Debt.
The government loans are good loans. 100% financing is still available. RD Loan funding should be available within the next 30 days. I have a feeling that this money will go fast. So take advantage of it while the money is available.
