Calvert County's long agricultural heritage and history are celebrated each year with an old fashioned county fair complete with farm animals, displays of all kinds, demonstrations and delicious Southern Maryland cooking
The Calvert County Fair Board, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit 501C (3) entity which was established in 1940 for the express purpose of providing agricultural education and promoting the local farming community. 
The first Calvert County fair was held in 1886 on the farm of Dr. Talbott in Smithville (now Dunkirk). The Calvert County Fair was originally formed to bring farmers and their families together for educational purposes as well as fun.
It was in 1940 the Calvert County "Fair" needed a permanent home 12 acre site known as Armory Road, in Barstow. On the 12 acre parcel cattle and animal buildings were built as well as a larger hall, which can be rented for other
The Calvert County Fair and The Fair Board to holds The Calvert County Fair in order to educates and entertains as a reminder for the current generation of its agricultural roots and promotes the importance of the agricultural community in the lives of The Calvert County Fair hosts many events, booths, competitions for all to enjoy. It also is promoted through the Calvert County Schools, "Youth Day" and the kids get a Free day from school to learn about Calvert County history, agricultural education. It's a fun venue for all. For all those that have been waiting, I don't think it is going to get better than this. Home Pirices have declined from 30-70% across the nation. Rates are historically low and should rise due to the new government debt. Rates are expected to go up over the next three years because of inflation and over supply of Debt.
The government loans are good loans. 100% financing is still available. RD Loan funding should be available within the next 30 days. I have a feeling that this money will go fast. So take advantage of it while the money is available.
