Living in Deep Creek Lake all of my life, I can't say I've spent as much time as I have recently on the Wisp Resort ski mountain (at least since I was a youngster). We take for granted the beautiful landscape and abundance of activities that surround us. So, for the week of Christmas, I made a pact with myself and snapped on my snowboard to spend at least part of each day on the slopes. And, I was with the best of company - my boyfriend and his 2 wonderful boys. We taught them how to snowboard in just 1 day. The next 3 days they challenged themselves to tackle every slope except The Face (double black diamond). If you've never given snowboarding a chance, just try it twice. The first time is dreadful, but the 2nd time and thereafter it becomes addicting. Happy New Year!

Day 1 Snowboarding @ Christmas

Day 4 Snowboarding @ Christmas - need a break!

A little late in sharing this but I still can't quit talking about the amazing experience I was afforded in watching Super Bowl 43 live. Hearing from my family in Sarasota, it was believed by the Florida locals that there were only Steeler fans around. But, that was definitely not true, although it wasn't too apparent until game day. Cardinal fans came out of the woodwork Sunday morning and the pre-party began in all of the parking areas. This was just the beginning of an exciting day (and night). Jennifer Hudson kicked us off with an incredible singing of our National Anthem and Terrible Towels were flying strong. It's been said by many that this was the most edge-of-your-seat Super Bowl in history; I can't compare it to any others (this was my first experience) but there was nothing like being in the corner of the stadium when Santonio Holmes caught the winning touchdown pass.
