One of the things I hate most in the world is shopping. I know, unbelievable right? It's true, and the reason why is because I really prefer relationships over things. I do enjoy things, but I enjoy people more. And thinking about this today something came to mind. And this really doesn't have anything to do with Fabusend, but I'm going to use Fabusend as an example because I think you'll see my point once I do.
Look at these headers below and tell me what you see first. Don't be shy, just do it.

Now look at this one...

Okay, if you're like me, the first thing you noticed about these headers is the picture of Ellen Bradley (and yes that really is Ellen) Ellen was gracious enough to lend her likeness as the model for Fabusend. So you noticed Ellen and then my guess is that you noticed the colorful backgrounds behind Ellen right?
I did... and I think the reason why you and I did this is because we are PEOPLE PEOPLE. I believe one of the top marketing tools is a picture of ourselves, especially when we are trying to sell something to someone. Looks really do matter. Your smile really does matter. Your clothes really do matter. In fact, I was reading this article yesterday about how employers are now spying on applicants through their secretaries and people who work in some company parking lots. One thing I read that was shocking is that some employers are weeding out applicants by having some of their personnel go down to the parking lot and look inside the applicants car to see if it is CLEAN! I find that offensive myself, because a person should not be judged on how clean their car is. (Yes, my car is cluttered, just like my mind :))
But it makes a point - people see YOU before they know what you have.
In fact, I remember years ago I was going to a church in Diamond Bar, California - just up the road from me - and most of the people that attended this church were decked out to the hilt. (What is a hilt?) And I remember as a young 20 something thinking to myself that these people are rich and phony. And guess what, I was wrong and I was right.
As I got to know some of these people, I found most of them were not rich, but they were phony, because they acted like they were rich, and they turned out to be in big time debt. Anyway, I've gotten off track here...
My point is that if you are going to market yourself, try using a picture. After all realtors are famous for slapping a picture of your beautiful selves on your business cards right? So why not, slap a picture of yourselves on your email letterhead too :) Okay...
Or if you're like me, put a cool design of the Whitehouse on your letterhead and pretend you wish you were there. ;) Or not.
Hello People,
Well, my husband and I did it AGAIN - we are refinancing our house for the 5th or 6th time... honestly I can't remember. But we are, and tomorrow I am told by my man that the inspector is coming out here in the morning to inspect the house. Is there anything that I need to do before this happens?
If there is, and if you're in the mood to clean my house, I welcome your visit tonight :)
Nineteen years ago today I met Randall Harp. Yup, it was a Sunday morning, I was new to the area and I stopped in at this church and there was Randall all dressed up in a nice pressed white long sleeved shirt and slacks, handing out bulletins as I entered the church.
He welcomed me to the church and then invited me to the singles group Wallyball event that was going to be taking place later that day. And that is how it all began...
We ended up playing that wallyball game and afterwards the group went to out to dinner and while we were waiting to be seated, Randall came over to me and asked me some questions, and right then the Lord told me that this was going to be my husband.
Well, as it turned out, God was right, because on Saturday we will celebrate our 17th year of marriage. Part of me can't believe it's gone by so fast, and part of me is glad it has gone by so fast.
My life with Randall has been just about one of the greatest gifts the Lord has given me. Not only is Randall just great looking and totally handsome, as you can see from the picture, but Randall is a genuine gentleman. He opens my car door, he treats me with the utmost respect in every situation and he has never said one ill word towards me.
He sends me a greeting card every week in the mail, and he loves all those animals I have ... and even takes care of them when he doesn't feel like it.
If it wasn't for Randall I never would have been able to go through college and earn my Masters Degree, or eventually have my own business. And there is so much more than even that I could tell you.
The most important thing however, is that Randall really loves the Lord. He has a love for God's word and he is a gifted teacher and expositor. He is also a gifted composer and has written numerous songs and compositions. He's really an artsy kind of guy....and he's ALL MINE! Thank You Lord! :)
I loved this one .. :)
The last two are political, but funny and make the point. I think it's really stupid to text while driving and yet enough people do it that they have to make a law! AUGHHHH and the end of life one, on this dastardly health care plan...sheesh.
