Hello real estate professionals, I have recently moved to the Tehachapi area down from Sacramento. I'm excited about offering home staging for the Tehachapi real estate market. I'm just settling in and will soon be available for all of your home staging needs. In the mean time I'm enjoying all of the sunny weather and beautiful wild flowers!
I'm not a "newbie" to Tehachapi, both my parents and inlaws live here and I also lived here about 10 years ago when by husband's job brought us to the area. I have horses myself and am familiar to the challenges to marketing "country" properties. I look forward to meeting local Tehachapi real estate agents and if there's anything I can do to help prepare your listings don't hesitate to give me a call.
With everyone becoming more aware of the environment and wanting to be more ‘green’ what better way then to get a living potted Christmas tree this year. In our area trees can be found at our local nursery ranging in size and price from tabletop at $12 to $150 for a giant tree. Popular varieties are the Dwarf Alberta Spruce or Fat Albert a type of blue spruce. Natural live trees are kind to the environment, they give off a wonderful fresh scent while in your home, are cheaper in the long run then a artificial tree which can costs up to $500 and will eventually end up in a land-fill. Artificial trees are also not fire proof as most people think, in fact once the plastic PVC starts to smoke it can give off toxic gasses. No tree is fire proof so examine your lights carefully before stringing on your tree. After the holidays are over you can plant the tree in your own yard starting your own Christmas tree forest or leave them in the pot which will force them to remain small, and of course you can always trim your tree to maintain the classic Christmas tree shape. I saw in some areas you can even rent a tree for the season.
Literally, take this opportunity during the holiday season to make a little something to pass out to your clients, vendors or friends. There’s nothing more thoughtful then giving out something you’ve made to show your appreciation. Make a double batch and place several pieces in a small box or holiday tin and hand them out, people will love the candy treat and remember the nice gesture. This simple recipe is a recipe for success, for now and the future, this holiday season. Enjoy!
HAZELNUT COFFEE CRUNCH
Melt 8 oz. good quality dark chocolate in a microwave on high for 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds; set aside. Spread on wax paper lined baking sheet to a thickness of about ¼”. Top with ½ cup chopped toasted hazelnuts and ¼ cup coarsely crushed coffee beans. Let cool over night. Break into pieces and serve. Makes about 2 cups candy pieces.

Don't miss out on a slice of apple pie and good old American hometown fun this weekend with the City of Lincoln's 4th of July Festival. It all starts at 9:00 AM with a "Happy Birthday America" parade. Spend the rest of the morning at McBean Park for live music and little miss Lincoln pageant. The day will end with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30 PM. Take a picnic dinner and head on over to the park at sunset then wait for the fireworks show after dark.

Lincoln is a great place to live where good old fashion hometown fun can be had this weekend to celebrate our countries birthday. The City of Lincoln wasn't voted an All American City for nothing! See you there...
We here in the City of Lincoln we have a very unique feature to our topography, clay. Yes, I said clay, Lincoln is know for it's large deposit of some the finest clay soil to be found anywhere. Here in Lincoln we have the historic Gladding McBean terra cotta factory, where they mostly make large sewer pipes but also are known for their world renowned terra cotta architectural pieces. This month the factory is host to one of the most unique events in Placer County the "Feats of Clay" a contemporary ceramic art competitions. I would highly recommend a taking the tour of the historic factory while viewing the art pieces on display in one of the old beehive kilns, it really is great stuff. The event runs until the end of May so don't miss out.
