Spring Forward....Warmer Weather, Warmer Market?

What an exciting week we've had! Sun, then snow, then more sun. I think it's a sign that spring is on it's way. Yes, there are flowers in my garden already!

I had a great breakfast meeting last week with Tom Navatril, of Royal LePage on Salt Spring Island. We discussed the industry in general, and the market, which has been slow but hopefully will be warming up. Home staging on Salt Spring hasn't totally taken off yet, it seems that the realtors are all aware, and in favor of home staging. However, some of the homeowners don't seem to be as savvy....yet. I am planning on doing some information meetings and press releases for the local paper etc... Education, as we all know is very important. I'm looking forward to more opportunities to save homeowners' money!

Plus, it's just so much fun to make a property look its best!

Cheap Thrills!

Working and playing hard in the concrete jungle.

This has been a great week for me.

I have had the pleasure of working with the marvelous Jackson West. For those of you who don't know of Jackson, he was one of the top 3 contenders in Stager Idol, and his before and afters have been featured in the "Home Staging for Dummies" book as well as in the CSP training course material. His staging business, "Reveal Estate" is one of the major players in the Vancouver staging industry, AND he's a super-nice guy!

We have spent the week staging condos, schlepping crates, furniture and accessories and driving to and from Jackson's storage unit. Here he has housed an impressive collection of staging accessories, art, furniture etc. He calls it his Staging Library, tres classy.

The transformation from vacant condo to lovely, contemporary show home is magical. It truly makes an enormous difference, when the rooms smack of luxury and comfort, instead of just bare walls, bare carpet and no personality.

Jackson's talent for home staging comes very naturally to him. He is obviously very good at what he does, and it has been an honor to work with, and to learn from him. I have been inspired, and am bringing new ideas back to Salt Spring Island with me. My company, "Curb Appeal Home Staging Co." with definitely benefit from this week's learning. Thanks Jackson!
