You can easily search the entire MLS for AFFORDABLE HOMES IN ST. AUGUSTINE and surrounding areas. Click on the link below and type Saint Augustine in the box on the upper left. Then press search. This will pull up homes that are mostly in St. Augustine between $100,000-$300,000. This is usually the price range that people think of using the word “affordable”. They are also all 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the most popular configuration and very good for the ultimate resale.
At the time of this writing, there are 485 that meet the above criteria. You can use the ruler on the left side of the map to zoom in and see the location of active homes for sale. Click on a red house icon to get specifics on that property.
To find exactly what you are looking for, you can create your own search. You can set up a new account with more specific criteria and be automatically notified as new properties come on the market or prices are reduced on homes fitting your needs. Examples of frequently-used search criteria include
1. structure: concrete block, brick, raised foundation
2. style: 1 story, patio home, ZERO lot line
3. type of waterfront: intracoastal, pond, marsh
4. pool
You can search for condos only, zip codes, various school zones, specific neighborhoods, etc. An additional feature is that you can also search sold properties to check the value of homes in particular areas.

For the month of July, Prudential Network Realty is participating in the Friends of St. Johns County Food Bank. Food donated goes to foster families, homeless people, and families in need. We received word yesterday that the shelves are empty, without even peanut butter to distribute.
Our location at 112 SeaGrove Main Street is a drop-off center for non-perishable items. Suggested items are boxed milk, pasta, cans of soup and vegetables, tuna and other canned meats, crackers, cereal, etc.
It is in giving back to the community where we, in the real estate industry, stand out. It is these same neighborhoods where we have homes for sale that we can build a strong bond and a collective conscientiousness.

For the month of July, Prudential Network Realty is collecting backpacks for children in foster care. Our location at 112 SeaGrove Main Street is one of the drop-off centers for the backpacks and various supplies, such as paper, pencils, crayons, rulers, school boxes, binders, glue, etc.
In 2008, our company collected 315 backpacks. We hope to exceed that number and provide children who are in need a feeling of confidence and security to enter the upcoming schooldays.

What’s going on? Yesterday’s Sunday local front page has a feature story about a realtor that helps a financially distressed family stay in their house in St. Augustine by communicating with the lender for loan modification.
Today the St. Augustine Record has an article about a meeting to take place in Jacksonville related to preventing foreclosures in Florida. Today’s meeting is a committee involving local, state and federal governmental agencies that can provide assistance with mortgage mitigation and various housing needs.
Just wondered if anyone else is seeing the print media painting a rosier picture of the housing market?
Since so many people take what they read in print as gospel, it would be so great if people read that the situation is improving, and viola!
Although, there are many homes for sale, there are many offers being made. The real estate market is showing significant increases in activity. I’ll have to write a press release or letter to the editor indicating some particulars about the real estate market in St. Augustine and see if that gets printed.
