Reeds Spring, Galena, Crane and more active rain in the Ozarks.

Weather you have been getting rained on or not, spring weather brings some beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Missouri has been one of the newsmakers lately because of the large amounts of rain we have been getting, but that is also one of the great things about the Ozarks, we can handle it. Our beautiful green hills and hollers move the water right on down to Table Rock Lake and cleans our fisheries so efficiently that it is only a matter of a few days before you can hardly tell we have received a foot of rain. True, a river or two can escape it's bank for a short while, but most people have learned of that possiblity years ago and built up where they do not have to worry about that. Today I noticed the Bradford pears and some other fruit trees are blooming, as are the wild daffodils and forsythia with the dogwoods and gladiolas soon to follow. Spring is beautiful and that takes rain and thunderstorms to bring it all about, which is what woke me at five-thirty this morning so I could get some blogging in before going down to the Reeds Spring Middle School at eight to help set-up the equipment for the new church, Hope Fellowship, that meets there. Galena, Crane, Cape Fair, Branson West, Kimberling City, Spokane and Highlandville people are all close enough to make the 9:30 am start time and are welcome. We have been running a radio ad on a couple of Branson radio stations letting people know it is a non-denominational church for those who are looking for a loving, accepting church home. Bible belt areas would seem to have enough churches already, but this one is so different than any I have ever been to that I recommend you check it out for yourself, it may just be what you have been looking for. In the meantime, thank God for the rain and enjoy the beautiful Ozarks springtime that has finally arrived after a long, long winter. Life is good and getting better is the message of spring to me and that is when the real estate market starts blooming again too.

Drought is over, I believe for sure now!

Galena and Reeds Spring are used to dealing with a lot of water this time of year, but we are seeing more rain this week than I can remember since? Water rescues of folks from their homes and records being changed that have been around since 1933 for flood levels and rainfall amounts. People should know better but are like me and think they can make it no matter how deep it gets, getting washed down the rivers. Crazy but true today and yet, I love the Ozarks, would not change a thing out it. This is what makes the creeks and rivers clean again, restores my belief that we are still seeing normal cycles of weather, not scary global warming, and life continues to be exciting and interesting still. The trees are budding out and the grass is greening, the flowers are popping up and it is going to be a really beautiful spring this year, so come on down, it will be gorgeous.

Spring is coming and my fishin' fever is rising!

Now that the snow and ice are melted and we are starting to get our spring (active) rains now, I can feel a fever rising in me that can only be cured by boat, shore, or float fishing. This old Realtor says take me to a pond, river, stream or lake, I really do not care but get me to the water. My mind keeps telling me, awake or asleep, I need to go fishing! This is a serious cronic illness I have suffered (lol) with all my life. Just ask my wife, if I do not get ahold of a good fighting fish pretty soon it will get real ugly in my world. I will not be able to eat, sleep, or think of anything else till the fever is cured by a long fight with a whopper that drains the sickness from my old bod. You would think that fifty years of fishing would have cured this problem permanently but it just keeps flaring up year after year, right about this time of year and I am starting to believe that death is the only real cure for it. Wish me luck, the sooner I get hooked up with a big one, the better I will be able to help folks buy or sell their real estate here in the Ozarks of SW MO where the fishing is great and the living is wonderful. Come on down, the weather is getting finer too!!!

Galena vs Reeds Spring, where in the Table Rock Lake area are they really?

Most people think of Branson when the Table Rock Lake topic comes to mind. So it would amaze most people to find out that there is more property on that lake available in Galena and Reeds Spring than Branson. Another thing about this area, the prices are a lot more affordable for the average retiree looking to relax and fish away the golden years they worked so hard to enjoy. Just got my Social Security statement yesterday and it looks like I will have to work till I am 70 before I can retire now, up five years from the last time I looked at it a few years back. So glad I already live here so I can enjoy this beautiful country in the meantime. You are never too young to move to the Ozarks and enjoy our unique lifestyle and still live close enough to work in Branson or Springfield at whatever your career is. Life is good in the Ozarks and I am happy to tell you to check it out for yourself, spend a week in Branson and we will show you the time of your life.

Ozarks Real Estate in 2008.

Real Estate is recovering it's value and moving much better already in this new year. People have realized that the media had slowed things down for awhile but not changed anything really. There is only so much real estate available and it is still the best investment, on the long term scale anyway, one can make. Whether you are ready to buy or sell this year, now is the best time ever to get 'er done. Let me know how I can help you!
