In an attempt to practice designing web-sites, and to get rid of all that commercial stuff on the home pages offered by the likes of Google, MSN, Yahoo! etc., I've designed a home page and am in the process of getting the domain name for 4114Stephen.com. We have more than 400 domain names that begin with 4114 and our ultimate goal is to brand that so here's a free notice to all who have $10 to gamble. If you want to be in on the ground floor, buy those domain names now! Buy the domain and we'll talk about me designing something like this for you. It really makes daily chores so much easier! How about $100?
If you can't type, is Vlogging the answer? Back me up on this. I'm trying to pull an associate into this century but his inability to see the keyboard, let alone the screen is keeping him from being very adept at online marketing. Is this the answer? I hate voicemail. I mean, I really hate it. I was put on probation a couple times for not replying and my message now just says, "Don't bother, I won't listen. Send me a text." But I'd listen to these. Are they professional? Are they appreciated? Are they used?
It's fun being the web designer. I get to see cool stuff out there like TalkBox.com and decide if we're going to include it in our web-site seamlessly.
So I read Jeff Turner's Blog and lose sleep over the possiblities of what it would be like to spend more time and insert this into a seamless version of a whole new way to correspond with consumers.
I hate voicemail. I hope it dies a miserable death like carbon paper. But e-mail isn't far behind. So, what if we make a screen like this where the consumer, more of which are computer savvy, received a personal note from you in this version:
Would Agents use it?
Would Consumers like it?

We're test-marketing a web-site and in working with the public, some things that seemed obvious just aren't!

"Schedule a Showing" is what other broker sites show. "What does that really mean to you, the consumer?" I have asked different friends and relatives.
"I don't know." They reluctantly admit. "Why do you ask?" they ask.
"Would 'Schedule a PRIVATE Showing' make more sense?" I prod them with my leading question.
"Well yeah," they say. "I can call up and see it on my own?" the ask like it's a whole new message.
Are we missing out on that portion of the populace that we design these web-sites for, i.e. the CONSUMER that's not in the industry?
"What's All MLS Listings mean to you?" I ask.
"Nothing." they reply. "What's MLS stand for?" That's another blog.
Who reads terms of service? So, I'm helping an assiciate and try to put up a big JPG but it is shrunk to fit in their window. Is it NOT free to have a great photo collage? Other's are putting up what is similar to their online brochure for their postings.
