There is nothing wrong with marketing to strangers, but your time and budget should be allocated proportionately.
If 80% of your business comes from clients and referrals that is where 80% of your marketing time and budget should be directed. Marketing to the low hanging fruit is not as sexy and exciting, but it is where you can expect the most business from in 2012.

HELLO, My Name is Scott,
Scott Ginsberg is a guy who’s been wearing a name tag on his shirt for
The last 12 years.
I heard him speak at an event many years ago. He was talking about getting noticed and helping people.
I even bought one of his books, and I enjoyed reading it.
(Get Them To Come to You / Stick Yourself Out There) 2 books in 1
Scott Ginsberg is getting noticed – there is an article About him in Success Magazine.
SCOTT outlines some tips on Getting Notice
-Be Receptive, just as if you are really wearing a nametag.
-Make people fall in love with you by helping them fall in love with themselves first.
-Take notes, write down what people say to you, then email them the key and points they made. This may provide you with a loyal ally and it definitely shows you were listening.
-Nobody notices or pays for average. Decide what makes you unique and leverage it.
Find some way to tell the world who you are…or at least your city.
I recommend picking up Scott’s book if you can.
