Ok I think I have a taste of what it feels like for a music artist to go platinum or for a movie to be a block buster. recently I posted this post Should I just stop paying NAR and it almost instantly generated a 100 comments within hours. I think I probably hit a hot button for Realtors in these difficult economic times. It appears that many Realtor have been questioning the value of NAR and were waiting for someone to be brave enough and say it publicly for all to hear. I am pretty sure that I am off NAR's Christmas List with my last post.
You see, I think we are all extremely frustrated with them because they supported President Obama's stimulus fiasco. Interestingly enough, now NAR is starting to fight the admistration because of the new changes that will be instituted that lessen the mortgage interest deduction for those that make more than 250,000 per year. You know the majority of small business owners that provide us with more than 70 percent of the jobs in the US. Yeah, that is a great idea, penalize the small business and then expect something good to come from that. I am sure small businesses won't make any job cuts and will just deal with the loss of profitability, Yeah that will happen.
The Apathy on our parts must stop now. We need to get really loud, really quickly! President Obama, CAN YOU HEAR US!!!!! We have 1 million plus in our organization and we each have 100 plus people in our sphere of influence. Do not toy around with our livelihood, start doing something that will actually be effective to help turn a really bad market around. Just in case you were wondering, Raising taxes and spending more money on government waste is not the road you should be traveling. I really hope you are listening because I can assure you that we will win this fight if you decide to go to battle with us.
Sincerely,
Steven Wright

Have you hear recently that the Obama administration is seeking to limit the mortgage interest deduction for people and families with incomes in the 250k and up? To top it off they are also seeking to almost remove the charitable tax deduction for those who make 250k and more annually. The Economy killer
Here is an idea, why doesn't the government save us all alot of agony and shoot is right into a full depression? Why drag it out for all of us, just raise taxes on everybody all at once so that we can finance this pork paloosa of his?
Were you aware that it isn't just the housing market, churches and all non profit organizations that will suffer from these dismal ideas of the Obama administration. We will all suffer. Many of these non profits are avenues of significant kindness and blessing for those in need. They are able to provide these services to needy people because of our generosity. Why would the Obama administration be trying to stifle these organizations. Just in case he was not aware, when you make more, most of the time you give significantly more, if you just go by percentages alone. Some of our wealthiest people give charitable donations because it is fiscally responsible on their part. They may not necessarily be religious or have good will toward all men. They may just give because if makes sense. Guess who will not be giving when you take the incentive away.
I am starting to think that the government would like to be everyones sugar daddy and have us all dependent on them. When will the insanity stop?
Well, back to the mortgage interest deduction. Have you heard of the trickle down effect? Yes, when you start penalizing the top income brackets it eventually trickles down to us? It isn't always immediately, but eventually you will feel it. I am so sick and tired of this class warfare the Obama administration has engaged in. I am not jealous of envious of the richest in our country. I do wish I had more money, but I am working harder each day to meet my financial goals. I will not have any incentive to do this if I know I am going to pay increasingly more to the government.
Please consider the long term effects of you decisions President Obama (or maybe you already have). I know that you are trying to pay down the national debt (which you recently added 2 additional trillion to in 1 month) but penalizing the rich to pay for your projects will not meet your goals.
President Obama, remember telling us that you were for small business and you were going to provide us with legislation to help spur small business? Everywhere I turn small business is cutting back significantly. I know that you said that your stimulus package would add or save 3.5 million jobs, but are these government jobs? Oh yeah, remember when you said that you will reduce government spending? I can't say that I have observed that yet? President Obama, I ask you for the sake of Realtors and for all of America to please keep your promises. STOP WASTEFUL GOVERNMENT SPENDING!
That is all,
Steven Wright
Did you know that NAR says that all of us support the stimulus package? Don't believe me take a look:

I do not remember NAR asking me if I supported this pathetic excuse for a stimulus package. Do you remember them asking you? I posted this yesterday What if I just Stop Paying NAR and I received a overwhelming response from all of you. You expressed your extreme disapproval of the actions of NAR over the past several years and also for their recent actions in supporting this stimulus package.
Hey folks, did you think about this. What happens when your clients who were against the stimulus package (which is a significant majority) go to realtor.org and find out that we as Realtors were for it? I know people that turn red and become angry when you mention what the government has done in the last month. Let's see, we are a fairly large PAC or lobby in DC and we do have some influence on the actions of congress. I am thinking that we are going to start experiencing a significant amount of back lash from the public if the continued declined is linked to this stimulus fiasco.
I will be the first to throw NAR under the bus and let the public know now that NAR did not ask me for my opinion, they spoke on their own accord. I did not vote for the current leadership and they are acting on their own on this one without many of our support. I suggest you do the same.
President Charles McMillan next time you decide to speak for all of us with respect to support for Obama's legislation. Give me a call my number is 720-989-5283 and I will be happy to give you my input.
Fellow Real Estate Agents accross the United States, whether you are a Democrat or a Republican I ask you to do something for me. I ask you to take some time to think about the future of your children and grand children. Think about what we are passing on to them when we leave this earth. In the span of 2 months our government will have spent 2 TRILLION DOLLARS that we do not have on CRAP (Pork barrel spending projects and banks). This has gone beyond partisan politics, we need to raise our voices and stop the madness. They keep telling us that we need to free up credit so that the banks can lend money. What happened to the almost TRILLION DOLLARS that we already gave to them. That is a lot of credit and loans that could be given to people. The government is proposing an additional 700 Billion dollars to the banking system. IT IS ABSOLUTE MADNESS THAT HAS TO STOP!!!!!
I hold NAR partly responsible for the decline of our Country and I say enough is enough. Let's hold them accountable. Just in case, I am a paying member of NAR (by force mostly otherwise I will pay outrageous penalties otherwise)

There is no arguing with cowboy logic. The Sierra Club and the US Forest Service were presenting an alternative to Wyoming ranchers for controlling the Coyote population. It seems that after years of the ranchers using the Tried and true methods of shooting and/or trapping the predator, the Tree-huggers had a 'more humane' solution. What they proposed was for the Animals to be captured alive, the males castrated and let loose again and the population would be controlled.
This was ACTUALLY proposed to the Wyoming Wool and Sheep Grower's Association by the Sierra Club and the USFS. All of the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes.
Finally, an old boy in the back stood up, tipped his hat back and said,
"Son, I don't think you understand the problem. Those coyotes ain't mating with our sheep - they're eatin'em."
