Just this morning I recieved an email from Beijing, China - from someone who had investors interested in purchasing property in the Storm Lake, Iowa area. At first I thought, yea right----delete, then I thought no I'm going to see if this is a scam and if it is I'm going to turn it in.
I checked out the 2 associated websites noted after the sender's address. Surprise, I think the group may be legit, they have contacts in Las Vegas, NV. Anyone else out there have any experience with the American Property Expo 2009 group? I did some research and translating on their sites (horrible - a lot of it I couldn't make heads or tails of with Babel Fish) and I am not sure what to think.
I was a little disturbed to see "America for Sale" noted on their website.

This is the time to be investing in real estate, a lot of people are getting out, many who invested previously and didn't keep up their properties will soon have to sell. The rental market (at least in my area Storm Lake and Alta Iowa) is hot, hot, hot! I just purchased another building, this is my first in Storm Lake, it has a commercial tenant on street level and space on the second floor for 2 large 2 bedroom apartments. Not a lot of demo, existing wide plank wood flooring and 12 or 14 foot ceilings. We have one apartment left to complete in our Alta 4 plex, that will be done this Spring then we will start on the Storm Lake building. I am getting excited about the layout, I have lots of ideas and a program called Plan3D to help me make it spectacular!

February 2008 - Median Price down 17% and number of sales down 11%,
March 2008 - Median Price down 18% and number of sales down 24%
April 2008 - Median Price down 1% and number of sales down 14%
May 2008 - Median Price down 17% and the number of sales down 15%
June 2008 - Median Price down 1% and the number of sales down 31%
July 2008 - Median Price UP 1% and the number of sales down 9%
I expect to see these numbers getting into positive territory very soon, once the election is over and the economy stabilizes.
