After 150 years of reporting the news, "The Rocky Mountain Post" will cease its publication today, February 27th. Forced to close its doors after a continuous drop in circulation, the paper sights the increase in the use of the internet for news as the reason.

Saddlehorn is well underway and fully entitled for an 800-acre, 320 member community. It will include a year-round mountain lodge and spa with breathtaking views of the Flathead Lake; a full service marina with dining and lounge and a variety of power and sail boats available to members; and a complete equestrian complex with miles of horse trails leading to the wilderness. Other features at Saddlehorn include historic trapper cabins scattered about on trail stops; chuck wagon camps; a pioneer school house; trading post with post office; fire hall; theater; deli; mercantile; shuttle stop; and discovery center. A complete sports park for field and court games lies in the center of the project. Many other unique features, such as a look-out tower with dining and wine grotto in the cliffs all add to the uniqueness of Saddlehorn. Off-site amenities include access to a 5,000-acre hunting and fishing ranch on the Smith River and golf at Eagle Bend.
The community's Welcome House just became the first LEED Platinum home in Montana, and also the oldest building to attain that rating in the nation. The exterior is a reclaimed cabin from the 1800's, but it has been re-designed with the best ideas in sustainability, from soy-based insulation to captured rainwater. The Marina Bar and Grille's over-water deck uses the cooler lake surface air to cool the kitchen, and materials like recycled rubber shingles for roofs and recycled glass for bar countertops.
