Another year completed! RJ Smith Realty wow what a great team effort to help the relay in 2008!
For the past few months we have been collecting donations, trading in our own clothes for money and showing off our talents with our bowling skills and then the day was here.... We all joined in on a team effort to help set up our team site the morning of June 14, which included items to comfort and fuel us for our journey to fight back, celebrate and remember.
The RJ Smith Realty - Real Estate Solutions Team as of 6am this morning raised a total of $5,511.00!
Wow what a great amount for a smaller team. We also participated in the pedometer challenge that went on continually during the walk at the end of the event they check the pedometer to see who had the most steps. Well RJ Smith Realty Real Estate Solutions Team did very well we had 63,455 steps that we walked, the winning team had well over 102,000 steps which was one of our local schools in the Pine Bush School district- Crispell Middle Schools. This is the forth year in a row that Crispell Middle School has won the award.
When you translate the steps into miles that mean Crispell Middle School walked over 51 miles (2000 steps per mile) and our small RJ Smith Realty Real Estate Solutions team did 31 3/4 miles.
As we were doing the final laps of walking the Sun was rising behind the fog and the smell of bacon was lingering in the area campsites, we were at the end of another successful Relay for Life Fundraising year for our small Town of Crawford, Pine Bush, New York and the committee was adding up the final totals for the 53+ teams this year event. The total was $150,000.
It is amazing a small town like Pine Bush could raise that amount. So that makes I'm told the four years combined of $500,000+ raised for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
I just want to say that the organized committee members with the support of family, friends and co workers did a wonderful, fantastic and incredible job again this year. Special thanks goes to all the committees and the two wonderful co chairs
