I must say this lack of snow and unusual warm weather in Rochester NY has prompted a lot of buyers to get out there and shop for a new home! My voice mail and three other agents I tried to reach today had full voice mail boxes! I'm so glad texting is an option. This is getting hard to keep up with!
Rochester, NY usually has a strong January market, yes snow and all....but this is fun! The weather is making it a breeze...the dark at 5 pm is not helping when you're out looking at land, but we are out there! Even better the sellers that were holding off until March or April are putting their homes on the market now so we are getting some good choices!
I had to use the Batman reference since my theme in marketing is my comic strip! Buying or Selling a home does not have to be a drag. This is going to be your new home your buying-or the home you made all those great memories in that your selling...you need to put your trust in someone that will look out for your best interests.
Remember, if the thought of buying or selling a home is causing a fuss...call on your friend Susan Aser at RE/MAX Plus!

Welcome to Winter in Rochester NY. We are glad the winds blow and dump more snow in Buffalo NY then here (poor things had to sleep in their cars all night), but we did get lots of rain which caused ponding and flooding, then it snowed and the temperatures dropped (they went from 58 degrees to 20 by the end of the day) and the roads froze and we finally got reminded to dig out those winter boots and coats, find where we put the shovels and oh yes...call the snow plow guy and get signed up!
This all teaches us we need to prepare.
Find those warm winter clothes and throwe some extra "old" ones in the car along with a blanket, sweater, water and food. (A game or two for the kids is a good idea too)
Keep your car filled with gas and check your tire pressure
Keep your sidewalks clear of snow and ice so no one gets hurt
And PLEASE-remember how to drive in this weather...practice in a parking lot if you have to. The roads get covered and you can't see the lines in the road...but please stop freaking out and holding that steering wheel so tight....pay attention and relax a little. If you defrost your car windows before you try and drive on the expressway-that would be appreciated!
Oh, and remember...It does snow in Rochester NY! But life goes on, stores are still open and even houses are still for sale. And with current rates...deals are available!
If you are renting, start preparing to buy a house. Check your credit, how many trade lines do you have? How much can you afford? What do you want or need? You will certainly save money and have piece of mind paying a mortgage than paying your landlords mortgage! You can find more information at www.RochesterNYRealty.com
If you think you might be losing your job-prepare now. While you have the money, get those needed home repairs done (loose or stuffed gutters, old furnace, broken windows, worn roof, etc). If we need to sell your home because you lost your job-you will be ready to hit the market and put yourself in the best position. Staging and home prepardness is easy and fairly inexpensive!
Need help preparing for a snow storm? Need questions answered about buying or selling?
I am here to help you prepare. Stay Warm! My Best, SUSAN
