ORLANDO, Fla. – Beazer Homes’ (NYSE: BZH) state-of-the-art gourmet kitchen in its waterfront Legacy community model home will get its first—and most challenging—test when the season No. 1 winner of Bravo’s hit series, Top Chef, whips up a cooking demonstration for area realtors Tuesday, Dec. 2. Beazer is using the invitation-only event to debut its SMARTDESIGN™ Chef’s Dream Kitchen, a true workhorse of a space with all the whistles and bells that chefs demand and home cooking enthusiasts aspire to enjoy, at its new home community located just minutes from downtown Orlando.
Professional chef Harold Dieterle, who won the inaugural season of the popular Top Chef television series, plans to stir up the audience with his version of the hot reality cooking show while showcasing the many functional and streamlined features of Beazer’s SMARTDESIGN Chef’s Dream Kitchen.
“Our design team drew inspiration from professionals like Dieterle to create a kitchen that is sure to fire up the most spirited chef and at the same time bring about ease and simplicity for the everyday cook,” said David Byrnes, president for Beazer Homes, Orlando Division. “This kitchen is designed to inspire cooks of all skill levels to try new techniques and recipes at home.”
Dieterle will tempt palates with delectable concoctions while demonstrating how the kitchen’s abundant storage, chef-grade appliances and generous center island takes the chore out of food prep.
Thanks to the popularity of cooking shows in recent years, Byrnes said more homebuyers want to duplicate the look and functionality of a professional kitchen. While granite countertops and stainless appliances are still very much in vogue, the family chef and the occasional cook also want their kitchen space to work harder with features like self-cleaning double ovens, walk-in pantry with pull-out storage bins and adjustable shelving, extra-deep storage drawers, and cabinets with pull-out shelving. Beazer’s Legacy model home Chef’s Dream Kitchen offers all of these options and more, and is just one of the many compelling features available in this SMARTDESIGN community.
Dieterle is the latest addition to Beazer’s growing lineup of experts it calls upon to help refine and redefine how homes are designed and built so they are more livable, well organized, increasingly eco-friendly and better constructed. Beazer refers to the process as SMARTDESIGN, which unites forward-thinking ideas and inspiration from a skillful mix of in-house architects, designers and builders with outside professionals.
