By all indication we are going to have a few Indian summer days this week end, so why not spend those days out side and I know the perfect place, Heritage Trails in Hilliard, Ohio. The Heritage Trail (87 acres) that starts at Center Street in Hilliard and ends at Cemetery Pike in Plain City, and the park opens at 6:30 am and close at dark. The trail is 7 miles converted from abandoned RR right-of-way, it also has 3.3 miles of parallel trails for horses. The trail is black toped the entire 7 miles with that it supports actives of hiking, biking and rollerblading. The horse trails has parking for trailers along with a corral for horses. Please open this link for Heritage Trails for details. http://www.metroparks.net/ParksHeritageTrail.aspx

Over the past 12 months I've read about this and that about the housing market improving, but these are the first reports that reflect across the Nation our housing market is improving in the areas of increase of number of sales compared to two years ago, increase in home prices, and increase in new builds. The numbers also reflect the lowered end priced homes have the most significant positive increase whereas the higher end homes continue to lag behind. Please read both links. The Ohio Realtor link deals with Ohio and Central (Columbus) Ohio housing recovery stats and the Realtor.org link discuss by region our National housing improvement stats. Both links have additional housing information too.

Clean Windows- A Solution That Really Works!

10-22-09

First impression really do count and windows are one of the first things home buyer's notice.

Cleaning windows, not a job I look forward too. First, I get a book on tape (at my local library Hilliard) just to keep from hating very minute of this job. Second, I've found a great solution to clean glass and it really works, better than the solutions you buy at the store. Here it is; rubbing alcohol, white vinegar, water and powder detergent, plastic gloves, a bucket, old wash cloth, and newspaper or paper towels. Mix in the bucket, ½ cup of rubbing alcohol, ½ cup of white vinegar, three pinches of powder detergent, and 2 gallons of hot/warm water, mix well. Put on the plastic cleaning gloves to protect your hands, use your old wash cloth to apply the cleaning solution to the window and wipe dry with either paper towels or news paper. Note, if you use newspaper to wipe dry the surface, make sure the newspaper doesn't get to wet otherwise the ink will start to bleed, so change to a new sheet of newspaper often. My end result, I have very clean windows and have listened to a great book.

Is The First Time Home Buyer Income Tax Credit Going to be Extended?

10-21-09
Susan Buhr

On Capitol Hill there is a big push by the National Association of Realtor lobbyist to get the first time home buyer income tax credit extended to the first quarter of 2010. The hold up is, where is the money going to come from? As of right now the Federal government hasn't said it will provide funding or that you and I as tax payers will pay for the 1 billion dollars per month for each month extension.
