River Vale Opts for Chinese Language Classes
River Vale New Jersey (the town voted #29 in the top 100 best towns in the entire country by CNN Money Magazine in 2007) has yet another reason to folks to sit up and take notice! River Vale students enrolled in Holdrum Middle School as well as both Roberge and Woodside Elementary School,have the opportunity to enroll in a class which teaches both the Chinese language and all about the Chinese culture, history and geography as well.
This innovative program is a first in River Vale, and is being funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education Foreign Language Assistance received by the River Vale School District. This program will be continued, with students being able to take a second level course the following year.
River Vale offers a top educational system for its students, as well as an exceptional life style for the community, and a superlative Library, a member of the BCCLS system in the County.

A group of River Vale residents are joining together to create a group whose purpose is to "reduce their environmental impact", according to Rosemary Dreger Carey, a River Vale resident. The press release issued by the new organization, "The Pascack Sustainability Club", will provide a forum for an exchange of ideas on how to live in an environmentally responsible way. This grass roots organization will address personal, local and governmental ways that we can become environmentally friendly.
It is significant that this organization is taking its roots in River Vale, the exemplary town which, just last year, was rated #29 in the Top 100 Best Towns in the Entire USA by CNN Money Magazine. One of the quotes from CNN is that "the town is vigilant about keeping things clean and environmentally friendly!
For those interested in participating in this wonderfully minded group, the first meeting is Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 1-2:30 P.M. at the River Vale Library, 412 Rivervale Road in River Vale, N.J.

River Vale Election Process Brings Community Together!
I just went to vote at the Woodside Elementary School in River Vale, which is closed today in honor of Election Day. I've been coming here to vote for years, and have fond memories of dropping my children off as they attended this excellent school. As I was signing in, one of the Poll Sitters smiled and asked me how the Real Estate Business was going. I had just shown her home a few weeks ago. This is one example of what I love most about River Vale - its small town appeal! People know one another, and speak to one another. In our busy lives, it is nice to know that my family and I reside in a town where people are not just numbers.! No matter what the result of this election, I will remember this warmth of my town of River Vale!
