The Hoffman Murphy Team is delighted to inform you of events happening throughout our area. Soon, Hermosa Beach will again host their annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, which is sponsored by the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce.

A touch of Ireland will be coming to Hermosa Beach on Saturday, March 17 starting at 11:00 a.m. The parade begins at Valley Drive, travels for seven blocks down Pier Ave., and ends at the corner of Hermosa Avenue and 10^th Street. This is the 18^th year for the annual parade, with over 100 businesses, school marching bands and civic organizations taking part in the parade and celebration! If your business or organization would like to take part in the parade this year, registrations are still being accepted.

Approximately 40,000 members of the Hermosa Beach and surrounding communities attend this parade every year, enjoying the atmosphere, celebration, and great dining and shopping that Hermosa Beach has to offer! Be sure to mark your calendar so you can join in on the festivities!

Calling all dancers! The Hoffman Murphy Team would like to invite you to register for the upcoming Hall of Fame Dance Challenge in Redondo Beach from March 15-18.

There are five age divisions for dancers: Future Hall of Famers - 8 years old and under; Junior - 9-11 years old; Teen - 12-14 years old; Senior – 15-19 years old; pro-am – 20 and up. Dancers can perform to a variety of music styles such as jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, dance team, clogging and more. A full list of all rules and dance styles can be found on the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge website.

There is so much talent to be seen in our youth – let’s give them the chance to show it off! We hope you will consider signing up and participating in the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge and wish you the best of luck!

The Hoffman Murphy Team loves to help students in our area achieve their dreams. Mira Costa High School needs your help. From March 21-24, talented students from the Mira Costa High School Orchestra will be competing in Atlanta, GA against other schools across the country. In order to qualify for this competition, Mira Costa High School successfully competed against 80 other schools. This competition is a privilege, and it’s not the first time that Mira Costa High School has competed – they’ve played at the Walt Disney World Concert Hall and Carnegie. To raise over $12,000 for this year’s competition in Atlanta, they are asking for your help.

If you are a local business or individual, you can help them raise some of their funds for this year’s competition; simply visit the website for the Band Boosters for more information. All who donate will be supplied with a donor letter for your records, and all donations are tax-deductible. Donations will assist in getting students, teachers, chaperones and equipment to the event.

The Hoffman Murphy Team encourages you to help not only Mira Costa High School, but other worthwhile causes in our area as well. Let’s show Los Angeles County that our area is the best!

The Hoffman Murphy Team invites you to join your local Target store tomorrow, Saturday, February 25^th from 9-11 am for story time with Dr. Seuss. Sponsored by NEA (National Education Association), this event promotes the importance of reading for all ages.

Children and adults alike will have the opportunity to relax, and enjoy readings of The Lorax, a classic tale written and published by Dr. Seuss in 1971. The story introduces children to the importance of the environment and how changes can affect many, if not an entire population.

In addition to reading The Lorax, the celebration of reading will also include goodie bags, special activities, and more. This is truly an event that your children (and maybe even you) will not want to miss!

Be sure to take some time out of your busy Saturday this weekend, and visit your local Target store to take part in this nationwide event.

Valentine’s Day isn’t the only day of the year to celebrate your appreciation and/or love for another.
