This BEAUTIFUL building is the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts at Main Street and Green Village Road in Madison NJ. This historic building is one of the oldest buildings in town and maybe in the area for that matter. Its also somewhat of a landmark for the area. As you can see even from this small picture, the architecture is amazing.
There is an interesting exhibit coming up on March 4th. Learn how people in the 18th and 19th centuries cured their ailments. The exhibit will talk about various medicines, instruments and practices used during that era. The exhibit will feature letters and diaries written by people talking about their ailments and different remedies that were tried as cures. They'll also have medicine cabinets and medical tools on display. I think it will be pretty interesting to see some of the remedies people in the past used and piece together the evolution of medicinal practices.

Most people wait until after the holidays to list or relist their homes. I just took a look at the listing and sale activity for Morristown and Morris Township NJ and here is what I found.
Since January 2, 2008 a total of 137 homes in Morris Township and Morristown NJ were listed on the Garden State MLS. As of today, February 14th 1 has sold, 22 are under contract and 6 are in attorney review. I'd say we're off to a good start.

Outdoor dining has become very popular in Morristown. If a restaurant wants to give their business a boost, put a table and chair outside and this will likely do the trick. Seriously, I believe it was only a few weeks ago on an unseasonably warm day in December that I saw some people dining outside of the Calaloo Cafe.
When you combine the inevitable "party in the kitchen" with the love of beign outdoors, it makes sense to create an atmosphere that lends itself to this lifestyle. Magaletta Design Environments in Morristown is having a Home Design and Landscape Show at the National Guard Armory from now until Monday January 21, 2008. They have a computerized slide show presentation available so you can see some of their previous projects and the beautiful outdoor environments they have and can design within your given budget. They will feature various ways to make your outdoor area cozy and comfortable by litereally creating a ktichen outside with grills, couches, cadelabras and anything else that you might desire. Additionally they will do landscaping or as some refer to it "dreamscaping" around your environment. There is a team of consultants on hand to guide you through challenging areas such as pools, patios, special wiring and anything else that your creative mind desires.
Whether it's hanging things from the trees or creating an outdoor room, this promises to be an interesting show. With this wonderful atmosphere, you're likely to have lots of company!
