If you snoozed you may have lost out on the gem show that was held at
Pasadena Fair Ground Convention Center
I managed to clear my schedule so I could attend last Saturday and I was not disappointed. There were many vendors there with many affordable prices on jewelry made from gems.
The entrance fee was only $5 and parking was free. My husband and I arrived as the doors barely opened. I hate being in too big of a mashing crowd so going early was a no brainer.
This picture is of your typical Geo stone. Split in half you can see the beauty within.
The picture below is the right hind paw of a cave bear. I am guessing it was a very big one because these bones were about 18 inches from top to bottom.
They had hands on crafts center for the children ages 5 to 12, free of charge. Some vendors had freebies for this age group also.
There were too many fossils to see and precious gems too. I hope some of you Houston area REALTORS® got to attend this event. I sure had some fun.
Scored is my new green amber silver ring. (I did not take a picture of it.) I didn’t even know that there were at least three different kinds of amber. I thought that the only kind was the honey colored kind. There is also a white or yellowish looking kind too.
The City of Friendswood has many established and new construction residential subdivisions to choose from, if you are moving here. One of the better established subdivisions, in my opinion, is Windsor Estates. The subdivision has a scenic walking trail and a lovely reflection pond.
West of this subdivision and within walking distance is Friendswood Sports Park, 27 acres for all you baseball and soccer enthusiasts. The golfer in the family can enjoy Championship Golf Center driving range, which is also located to the west and within walking distance of Windsor Estates.
Windsor Estates has an active Home Owner Association to ensure continued property values.
There are currently six beautifully landscaped homes for sale in Windsor Estates.
The Prices range from $249,500 to $374,900.
Home square footage range from 2,827' to 4236'.
Lot square footage range from 11,700' to 13,664'.
Friendswood for the most part is a residential community and a great one to live in. There are many specialty shops and fabulous restaurants to enjoy. The City of Friendswood was named in 2007 & 2009 one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the United States and one of the best towns for families!
Something that most young families are concerned with is the school district. Friendswood Independent School District is rated EXEMPLARY. Click on the school districts web site link for any additional question you may have. I have provided for you here... http://www.fisdk12.net/aboutus.html .

I found a tree….I found a tree… O Christmas Tree! Yes I am excited I finally found a tree.
I have been really busy and have not had time to do a good tree hunt. I called several places today to no avail.
What I really wanted was a flocked artificial or a real tree and my friend who is a Fire Marshal told me where to go get an artificial one. She is really against using real trees because it is such a fire hazard. However, they were all sold out. The rest just looked so cheap at an expense price.
Tonight I went to HOME DEPOT and they had a nice 7’ tree.
A nice lady was summoned from the back to come help me and my husband with it. She whipped into the outside garden area and dragged the tree to have its bottom trunk get a fresh cut.
She was so sweet and cut off some of the lower limbs which did not look so good.
As we walked out of the area I gave her my business card (if I give you money you get my card). I explained that I was a realtor and if she ever needed any help I would surely love to help her like she help us tonight.
Her face lit up and she said that she and her husband were working with a mortgage person to get their credit rating up. She explained her husband had zero credit
We were both excited and I asked for all her contact info and got it…so I guess Christmas came a little early and it looks like there will be some kind of transaction late January! Yeah!
