Snohomish County, WA :Introduction: 2008 GO Green!

When Experience Counts

Hello, my name is Susan Waiste, (Susie to all my friends) I am a local Real Estate agent, Certified EcoBroker and an Associate Broker, who sells out of the Western Washington area. (John L. Scott, Mon) Mainly I work in Snohomish, King, Island and Skagit counties. I am a life time resident and have been a real estate investor since the mid-80's. I love the Real Estate Market; it is like R&D, always changing. I have been self-employed most of my career and love the self direction, the quest for self-improvement, knowledge and innovativeness.

My client, friends, family and acquaintances are continually asking me where I think the Real Estate market is headed. Since I don't have a magic eight ball, I have to look at all the market conditions for our area. (Western Washington) Western Washington has a low unemployment rate, were are a highly educated and skilled work force. We are not reliant on just one industry for our employment. Our prices are still edging upwards, though on a more traditional level. Yes, we are out of the double digit increase of the past several years!

I will always think real estate is the best hedge against inflation! I believe in owning something that is tangible, you can look at feel, see the value of. Stock, bonds and that market is great, but that is not my expertise.

It is my personal belief that real estate will never go out of style! It is changing and that is exciting! The new homes that are designed for efficiency, with a smaller global foot print is a spectacular change. I love that we are beginning to realize that each of us do have a lasting impact on our plant. My goal is to continue educated my self, so that I can then pass on what I know to those how ask. I hope this will be fun, educating and a great resource for everyone who participates in this forum.

I would love to have questions asked, and I will reply back to you as quickly as I can. I have been doing much research into "green built homes". What are they, what is there prices compared with a traditionally built home and where can you find one? Please feel free to ask away, if I don't know, I'll try and find out the answer.

A few rules:
1. This forum is to offer helpful advice and local information for those needing it.
2. I don't want this BLOG for agent bashing. I believe most agents are working for the best interest of their clients. If you have an issue with a particular agent, call the Office Broker, or the NWML and place a complaint.
3. I can't give out legal advice, I'm not an attorney.
4. Please have fun, be courtesy and no foul language.
5. If you're curious about what an agent can or should be doing for you ask.
6. I have a demented sense of humor; I hope that I won't offend anyone.
7. Always, have a terrific day!
