I read a blog today posted by Loreena Yeo. She said that people have asked her what their house would be worth in 3 to 5 years. She commented that REALTORS® don't have crystal balls.
Funny thing about that statement. I have said the same thing many times to people who ask "How's the market?" or "Are sales going up?"! In fact I recently posted a blog with a comment about crystal balls.
What most people may not realize is that the housing prices during the height of the real estate market in 2004 through 2006 were actually falsely inflated prices which had to come down at some time. You know the old saying: "What goes up must come down." Well that saying certainly applies to real estate and the best advice I can give to anyone is this:
If you need data about real estate in Williamsburg, Va, fell free to contact me and no I don't have a crystal ball, but I do know how to help a buyer find a great deal on a house in Williamsburg, Va.
I'm not moving yet, but... I should get a great buy on a house when I do move since northeast Florida currently is a buyer's market!

There are some great deals on homes for sale in Williamsburg, Va, some are short sales, REO's or foreclosures. Some other great buys currently available are corporate relocations.
"How's the market?" As a REALTOR® in Williamsburg, Va, I hear that question often. My answer usually includes the phrase "Well, if I had a crystal ball..."; and I don't say that lightly. I, like most people have a vested interest in that question. After all owning property is still part of the American Dream and owning real estate over the long term usually adds substantially to one's net worth.
To shed light on the question, "How's the market?", I would like to share this recent quote from Lawrence Yun, the chief economist for the National Association of REALTORS®: "There will be two steps forward, one step back, with sizable local market differences. The trend nevertheless will be a rise in home sale activity in the upcoming years".
The key phrase in that quote is the term "sizable local market differences".
You have no doubt heard the term that the important thing to remember about property is location, location, location!
If you find yourself asking "How's the market", keep in mind the three things that sell a house: price, condition and locaton. Since it is usually not feasible or practical to change the location of the property, then the things that can change and affect the market the most are price and condition!
So if you would like to buy or sell a home in Williamsburg, Va. feel free to contact me!
