The number of homes sold continues to decline from its peak in 2006 and the number of days on market has increased dramatically.

Prices also declined a bit for the month of June but, surprisingly, not by much if we consider the length of time homes stay on the market.

The Grey Forest Farmers Market has moved to Helotes, right on Bandera Road in the Methodist Church parking lot. The location makes it much easier to reach. Stop by on the 2nd or 4th Friday each month between 3:00 and 6:00 for fresh vegetables, fruit, grass-fed beef, eggs, pastured chicken, honey, lavender products, and much more.
Bad news for all of you peach lovers out there: there will be VERY few peaches in Fredericksburg this year. A late frost the first week of April destroyed the crop at my favorite PYO (pick your own) orchard. Blackberries and vegetables, on the other hand, are ready for harvest. And hopefully cantaloupes and watermelons will be plentiful.
This year, about half of the number of homes were sold in Helotes in comparison with last year. Those homes have been staying on the market longer.

The good news is: prices went up! We'll see what June and July have in store for this charming small town right on the edge of the Texas Hill Country.

This post will be uptated in a few days, as all the listing agents may not have had a chance to enter their data for May of 2009. A preview of numbers does give us an idea of the trend for San Antonio this year.
The number of days a house is on the market before it is sold has increased, and the number of homes sold during the month of May has been decreasing.

Some good news: the median sales price has increased!
