One of my favorite times of year is the fall. Yes, I like the changing of the seasons, the leaves changing color, college football....but what I like most of all is The Decatur Beer Festival. This has got to be one of the best annual festivals in the great Atlanta metro area. If you have never been, come check it out - you will not be disappointed.

Many festival goers meet beforehand to savor a meal at one of the many restaurants in Decatur and then it's off to the festival. Festival goers are encouraged to sample the many different types of beers showcased by local and international beer artisans. Over 100 types of beer are present, sure to please anyone's palate.
Thanks to the many restaurants in Decaturand area distributors, the festival is a hit every year. Between beer sampling and ambling around, festival goers enjoy live music on the Community Bandstand. Food is never hard to find due to the many vendors that set up shop. Local restaurants in Decatur provide the food to go along with the rest of the festival experience.

Admission to the Decatur Beer Festival is $35 per person. Eager festival attendees are encouraged to keep in mind that there is a limit of 4000 tickets sold for each festival and participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend. Tickets are only available for purchase online and no children or pets are permitted at the festival. Each attendee will receive a commemorative tasting glass upon entrance.
Twain's Billiard and Tap and the Brick Store Pub are a few of the pubs and restaurants in Decatur sponsoring the festival this year. A map of the festival, directions to the square and a list of restaurants in Decatur are easily accessible to all.
After a few hours spent beer tasting and eating, many attendees stop off at any one of the restaurants in Decatur to bring a close to their fun filled day.
Candler Park Welcomes Spring and Summer

Candler Park and Lake Claire are great neighborhoods all year - but they really shine during Spring and Summer. This weekend is the Sweetwater Festival - come on out and see whey so many people choose our community as the place to live in Atlanta.
Candler Park has claimed its place on the National Register of Historic Places and lends credit to this honor by being one of Atlanta's first suburbs. East of downtown Atlanta, and south of Ponce de Leon Avenue, Candler Park ushers in spring each year with the SweetWater 420 Fest 5K Race. The 7th annual 5K race will take place on April 16th beginning at 11 a.m.
Another sure sign that spring has sprung and summer is around the corner is the annual Candler Park Easter Egg Hunt. Many of the areas public and private school students along with their family and friends take part in the egg hunt every year. On April 23rd children from infants to twelve years of age gather in the park at noon time to search for some of the two thousand eggs thoughtfully placed around the park.
Summer is the perfect time to head outdoors and enjoy some exercise. The swimming pool located in Candler Park will reopen for hours of family fun this summer. In addition to swimming, each summer the Friends of Candler Park host Candler Park movie night. Movies are shown in front of the pool house beginning before the sunsets.
In conjunction with Park Pride, Epworth Methodist, and the Candler Park Neighborhood Association, movies that are both kid and adult friendly are played on the big screen. The following movies are to be presented. Toy Story 3 on April 30th, Captain Planet on May 21st, How to Train Your Dragon on July 23rd, Tangles on August 27th, The Karate Kid on September 17th, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 on October 29th.
