ARDEN ARCADE, Sacramento
Having grown up in the Arden Arcade Area of Sacramento (actually right next door to Country Club Centre), this area is near and dear to my heart. If you look at the images below, one is of the prestigious and popular Town & Country Village. If you look right next to it, you'll see the black and white image that shows what T&C Village used to look like when I was a kid and my mother worked at the Bank of America that is now the grocery store parking lot. Intersting is that enourmous Oak tree that is in the middle of the parking lot, used to be one I would sit under while waiting for my mother to come out of the bank.

Besides this, we have shopping at the Pavilions, we have booming businesses, loads of excellent dining, and great golfing. You'll find libraries, lots of great automobile dealerships (why drive to Roseville?) and the wonderful San Juan school district that my husband, myself and all four of our kids have attended.
Shopping & Dining
It's undeniable the the Arden Arcade Area has some of the best shopping in Sacramento. In fact, there is nothing more breathtaking then to visit the Arden Fair Mall during December. The giant Christmas tree that towers in the middle of the mall is a sight that nevers grows old. It's certainly a sight to behold. And don't forget the 2-story mall is filled with shops! For more about shopping at Arden Fair Mall: Arden Fair Mall. There is way more shopping to do, though! Don't forget Town & Country Mall, Country Club Plaza, and the How 'Bout Arden Mall.
Besides that, we've got the finest car dealerships there are in this area! One last thing on shopping...as a big health food fan, I have to mention that I ALWAYS shop at Whole Foods Market....if you've never been, it's an adventure! http://www.wholefoods.com/ Dining Wow! Can you really enjoy some amazing cusine in this neck of the woods. I acutally have too many favorite places to mention! Arden-Arcade Restaurants MyTravelGuide.com start here and let me know what youre favorite place to dine in the Arden area is!! I wonder if you'll like the Cheese Cake Factory as much as I do for desert! My husband and I love to go there, in fact, we did just that last night, and have a glass of wine and piece of cheesecake while we're waiting for a movie to start at the Market Square.
I also don't want to leave out the important Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce who features an Arden-Arcade Area mixer each month. You'll want to attend this if you care about the Arden Arcade Community or if you are a business owner and like to network with other business owners in the community.

As an expert in the Arden/Arcade Area, I am able to help you with any of your real estate needs or questions. I care about our community, and am happy to help you in whatever way I am able.

Why would anyone who likes to golf not want to buy Carmichael real estate? Okay, so I can see if want to live, say, in Pebble Beach, but c’mon, if you want to be near lots of great golf courses, the river, shopping and, hey, only 20 minutes from Down Town Sacramento, Carmichael is the place to be.
So while there are a lot of great golf courses around Sacramento, my favorite one is in Carmichael: Ancil Hoffman. Ancil Hoffman is a large lovely course, with turkeys, geese and the occasional doe, roaming around like they owned the place. While I’m still not brave enough to take on the full 18 holes, I love to go to Ancil Hoffman driving range and work on my drive.

This morning, my 18 year old son showed me up like I couldn’t believe. Here he hits the ball and it just kind of makes that “click” sound that golfers far and near can relate to. His golf ball sails into the sky and you can almost hear it whistle as you begin to lose sight of it. All you know for sure is that it’s near the sign that indicates 200 yards. And then there’s me.
While my sons “fly balls” remind me of a triple homerun (if it were a baseball game), then my drives, which are really ground balls, are reminiscent of the old show “Bowling for Dollars.” Seriously, I have been golfing since this kid was in grade school and he approaches the Tee like a pro with the most picturesque swing I’ve ever seen (sans Tiger, that is J)
Leaving Ancil Hoffman, I admire all the homes, with owners so close to my favorite golf course that they could swing, er, I mean walk to the driving range. And maybe they do, who knows? All I know for sure is that when it comes to Carmichael real estate, I always envy those folks so near Ancil Hoffman Golf Course, but for now, I’ll settle for driving to the driving range.

Last week’s show was great (www.InLoveWithSacto.com). As always, I started talking to Ed “The Money Man” Wacaster (I gave him the nickname, but so far, he hasn’t complained!) Ed knows a lot about lending. So much so, that I feel really positive about sending any and all buyers his way…even if they just have questions or want to talk about a loan modification. Ed rocks. And, one thing I really like, especially with clients all over Sacto County, is that Ed is pretty darn mobile. Makes it easy to buy a house when you have a lender who not only hooks you up with the best rates, but can also come to you for the paperwork! You can call Ed at: 530-798-1400.
I also got a chance to speak with Brad Asbury with the Access College Foundation. Brad helps parents figure out how to fund their kids’ college education, but moreover, he’s filled to the brim with knowledge about how to get into private colleges, and things I never even considered. Listen to all he said, especially if you’ve got kids from grade school up–hey, even younger if you plan on sending them to Harvard! You can call Brad at 916-607-3104.
If you are interested in the Sacramento Economy though, you MUST listen to my talk with Howard Blum.
Howard is the Who’s Who in economics if you ask me. His resume and list of related accomplishments are longer than my cat’s tail and what makes it great is that he breaks down all the gibberish into language we can understand. Did I mention that Howard’s interest rate predictions and opinions on the economy have been seen on television in more than 200 countries??? So, he might know a thing or two, right?
Howard’s words were music to my ears. The one thing that stood out to me is that he indicated the real estate marketing has already hit bottom! Did you hear that? Hit bottom! Howard says that anyone who buys Sacramento real estate right now, will be smiling ear-to-ear later on. He says that home prices won’t get any lower, which explains the buying frenzy we’re seeing right now. Additionally, Howard has a fresh and passionate take on California politics that’s well worth the listen. (www.InLoveWithSacto.com). Visit Howard’s website for a ton of great related info: http://econonews.net.
Hearing what Howard had to say confirmed my belief that now is the time to buy real estate in Sacramento, and it gives me even more confidence in helping buyers be sure it’s a smart time to invest. Ah, it’s good to be right ![]()
Listen to the show and let me know what you think. As always, your opinion, Sacramento residents, is what matters most. If you or someone you know has something inspiring or educational to share with our community, shoot me an email and we’ll have you on the show.
