Tara Camp

As a active resident of Bellingham, I like to stay on top of the many recreational events that take place every weekend. There are far to many to write about so I'll pick and choose a variety of events so that you can grasp how much beautiful Bellingham has to offer.

bellingham recreationThe Tour de Whatcom is a a benefit ride for the Boys and Girls Club of Whatcombellingham recreation County. The ride starts in historic Fairhavenand will offer 3 tiers of racing... a 25 mile loop, a 50 mile loop, and a 105 mile loop. The Tour will appease your senses with vistas of Puget Sound, Mt. Baker, rivers, valleys, and beaches with most of the riding consisting of fairly low grade.

The will be a great support staff providing tech support, pit stop refreshments, and road support. This is a race for beginners to experts...something for everyone.

If you like classical music and enjoy taking in the long evenings of the Pacific Northwest then you should head over to Fairhaven's Village Green Park to bask in the delightful sounds of the Whatcom Wind Ensemble.

The Ensemble is made up of all volunteers and they perform for hundreds of folks around Whatcom County. Yep, that's right even you can audition to play for the Ensemble...isn't that cool!

The Whatcom Wind Ensemble will be performing at the Village Green Park on Wednesday, July 30th at 7:00 and Saturday August 9th at 1:00.

The Boulevard Park in Bellingham is one of my favorite places to spend time. Located directly on the bay it is a hot spot for B-ham locals. With Summer in full swing it's a great spot to relax, take in the beauty of the area, and enjoy life.

Bellingham entertainmentThe Blvd Concert Series is a series of Saturday concerts that take from 7:00-9:00 put on by the city of Bellingham. Last night I enjoyed Maya Soleil with family and friends. It was a great show and perfect day. The band was very energetic drawing the crowd to dance and frolic in the sun. Overall, it was a great time and a great way to spend time with friends and family.
