With spring right around the corner (though you would never no it by the temperature today) more and more listings are coming to the market. While this may seem bad for sellers with the increase in competition there are also more and more buyers entering the market. It's not neccessarily bad for sellers because there are a greater number of buyers. Interest rates still remain low, and with the good selection of homes on the market, it is the perfect time to buy a home.
A Word About The Negative Housing Market Media
There has been a lot of negative media concerning the housing market, but one has to consider the data. The media reports a housing slump due to the subprime mortgage crisis over the summer, but the reality is Columbus remains a fairly stable market. Forbes recently ranked Columbus as the 3rd most stable real estate market out of 40 large metropolitan areas in the US. All in all, I truly believe that if there was ever a time to buy a home, it is upon us.
