According to the Austin Business Journal, our single family home sales rose in September; 6%! Not only that, but our median sale price rose as well. What recession?

Local Austin Hot Spots

Looking for some local Austin Hot Spots to check out? My personal two favorites on this list are Hey Cupcake and Corazon at Castle Hill. Hey Cupcake has the most amazing (and large) cupcakes you will see around and a very Austin-like trailer as their store!

Corazon Castle Hill has a great location on 5th Street downtown and has delicious authentic modern mexican food; their empanadas are always warm and come with every one of their big and crispy salads.

Exploring Austin can be very, very fun!!

Hook em' Horns!!

I am an alumna of the University of Texas and just have to take a second to gloat. I could not attend the Red River Shootout in Dallas this year, unfortunately. :(

However, the win (even though it wasn't the prettiest win ever) was still just as sweet!

Here is a UT picture I LOVE.

How Small Fixes Can Turn Into LARGE Repairs!!

I have previously blogged on a leak I had in the ceiling of my living room. I first reported it to my HOA on June 28th, 2009. This is what the ceiling looked like when it started turning yellow, and eventually leaking.

Before:

After about one month, the HOA finally sent someone over to cut a hole in the ceiling where it was leaking. It then looked like this:

After 1 Month

After THREE months, it's finally being fixed (right now, as I type!) and THIS is what it has turned into:

After 3 Months

This little leak has turned into a 5x4 disaster! After opening up the wall they realized everything was ruined from the wood planks, to the insulation, and of course the sheet-rock. They are having to repair it all. What a mess!

Fix things as soon as the problem starts or the situation can get much worse!
