Montgomery County Water Garden Society Pre-Pond Tour

This year we were invited to be on the Montgomery County pond tour. We were last on the tour in 2004 just after having our largest pond completed. Since then we have added a 3rd smaller goldfish pond out back and a large water garden out front. So though some have been out to our home before there have been many changes to include all the landscaping that has really filled in. Tim and I spent some time this past week getting things in shape around the house for the pre-tour as well as the pond tour itself.

The pre-tour allows everyone on the tour next week and the sponsors, to go out and see their fellow ponders ponds. So here are a few pics I took yesterday . Our pond is the larger photo

There were 7 ponds in all. All were unique in there own way. The tour will show pond planners how to work with a small space, ponds for beginners and ponds for those like Tim and I who have been in the hobby for 7 years and managed to turn their back yards into their own get away.

I was amazed by the ponds that people had in very small backyards. How they created their own little paradise and even though they did not have the benefit of living with woods around them or a few acres to add privacy, they managed to make their own private spaces with landscaping and creativity. Now we just have to keep everything outside looking good for the actual Pond Tour next Saturday.

If you are in the area, we certainly hope that you will stop by next Saturday to visit our gardens! We look forward to seeing you. Please enjoy the photos.

Clarksville's Inaugural Middle College Class

A great new feature for the children of Clarksville Tennessee. One more reason why Clarksville is a great place in which to raise a family!

A total of 120 Students started Clarksville's Middle College on the APSU campus on Monday. The students will be juggling not only High School Courses, but College Courses as well.

Students forego high school athletics, band and clubs if they elect a middle college experience. The program is designed to allow students to take needed high school courses while starting to build college credits.

"You are taking a road that has never been traveled before," Middle College High School Principal Melissa Champion said.

Funding through the Hope Lottery Scholarship and the Clarksville Montgomery County School system make this experience available for all, though all students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the University.

Additionally, the students have the responsibility to maintain their grades. Should they not pass a course, they are responsible for repaying the school system for tuition costs.

This is a great way for Clarksville's children to get a head start on their college as well as to learn valuable lessons of responsibility and accountablility.

Clarksville Dance Force - Dance Camp

Last week Ashley attended dance camp at one of Clarksville's Dance Studios - Clarksville Dance Force. They seemed to have a great time and Ashley has really come along way it seems. They did a bit of everything and even a little theatre. Guess dancers need that. At the end they put on a bunch of mini dances for us. They had been divided in groups and had to make up their own choreography. Can I tell you I think in that department they all have a ways to go. Glad they do not do that all the time! The older kids were pretty good but the younger such as Ashley's group were very silly. I was not surprised that Ashley's friend made much of it up. I guess the point was for them to have fun. I took a couple not so great photos of the event but not many since I wanted to watch and catch everything. The photo is of Ashley's little group. Just kinda standing there getting ready to perform.

Today we find out how they did as they get placed into the groups they will have classes with in Ballet and Jazz. Ashley also plans to take Acro,Tap and Ballet conditioning.

Many of you might be wondering what this has to do with Real Estate? Well, that is quite simple, Real Estate is an extension of our lives in a sense. I want my clients and my collegues to know who I am. It also gives me an opportunity to showcase some places in Clarksville that many will be interested in.

Thanks for stopping by.
