Calling all animal lovers! I just read an on-line article regarding a Dog Park project well under way but they are in need of your support. I know from personal experience what joy this type of dog park can bring to pet owners and their loved ones. We frequented a dog park in Richmond and had developed such good friendships with like minded Moms and Dads. If you become a frequent visitor to this Vint Hill park, don't be surprised if you get to know and remember the names of the dogs before the owners. (ie- Sport, Fido, Copper, Champ, Coby) What fun!! Women of Wonder proudly presents "SEASON of GIVING" 23rd Annual Warrenton Christmas Parade & Community Drive to Benefit the Fauquier Food Distribution Coalition on Sunday, Dec. 20th at 2p.m.

COMMUNITY FOOD DRIVE

In line with the parade theme of "Season of Giving", the Women of Wonder has organized a community food drive. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and voluntary cash donations along the parade route. These items will support the Fauquier Food Distribution Coalition's efforts to assist those in need within our community. They will have elves walking along the parade route with big red full length Christmas stockings collecting voluntary cash donations, and they will have a truck near the Grand Stand that will serve as a collection point for food items.

Formerly known as Vint Hill Pool, Larry Weeks Community Pool is fun for the whole family. My kids and I got a chance to visit today and had a blast swimming the afternoon away. The fees are reasonable compared to other area pools that we've gone to this summer. They do have a concession stand and plenty of lifeguards on hand. There were several day camps there and therefore no shortage of kids to splash along with! The whistle is blown at quarter til each hour, so plan your arrival and check-in accordingly. Plenty of seating to eat your snack or lunch. Enjoy and we plan to do swim lessons in August offered at the pool.
