Here are the market statistics for single family homes in the Reno, Nevada area for July 2009:
July ended the month with 307 single family homes SOLD.
There were 180 single family homes in escrow by the end of July 2009 in Reno, Nevada.
Of the homes sold during July, 21 were short sale and 40 were bank owned.
The average list price of a single family home for the month of July was $249,000.
The average sold price of a single family home was $187,000.
Average days on the market for a single family home during the month of July was 138 days.
Existing homes sales in Reno, Nevada continue to post positive gains but the average price of homes sold are dropping as foreclosures maintain a strong influence on the market.

Northern Nevada Area Wide Open House Day
Saturday, August 15, 2009 ~ 1 - 4pm
The NNRMLS, together with the Reno/Sparks Association of REALTORS® and the Sierra Nevada Association of REALTORS®, is planning an area-wide open house event for August 15, 2009.
The goal of this event is to have as many homes open to the public this day as possible and have as many interested home buyers attend these open houses. So far there are over 150 homes registered for this the area wide open house event.
If you are interested in attending any of the open homes this Saturday, August 15, 2009, you can visit www.nnrmls.com to find out what homes will be available. The NNRMLS will also be providing a link with a map to direct you to these open homes.
The Northern Nevada Realtor assciations are launching a marketing campaign including print, radio and TV advertising. All marketing will feature branding based on balloons in the logo colors of NNRMLS; blue, purple and green. Balloons will be available for all members participating in the event.
The intention is that the public will see these balloons all over the various neighborhoods in Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden, Fernley, Fallon and Yerington and recognize them as part of the open house event.
So when you are out and about this Saturday, August 15, 2009 and you see blue, purple and green balloons along with open house signs, feel free to stop in see what is available for sale in your neighborhoods.

School Districts: The Washoe County School District operates 92 schools in Northern Nevada. This district includes Reno, Sparks, Incline Village, Wadsworth, Gerlach and Empire. The Washoe County School District is one of the largest Employers in Northern Nevada.
The Douglas County School District services the Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley regions and serves 13 schools. They are the fifth school district in the State of Nevada.
