Parents are preparing to come for their annual visit to College Station on April 11th - 13th this year. Activities planned include the Aggie Mom's Boutique and Midnight Yell on April 11th, a Bevo Burn BBQ on April 12th and the Singing Cadets Concert as well. Awards will be April 13th.
Parent's weekend is when most of the students want to have their living accomodations for the next year nailed down at. I typically will still show many clients on Parents Weekend. If you want an appointment on weekends between now and then for condo or home purchase consultations please give a good amount of notice. Good agents get booked quickly this time of year. If I'm not available during the time you would like to come I can try to arrange another good agent to take care of you. Whatever you do you don't want to just show up and get relegated to potentially end up with an agent with little experience.
Now is the time to book your appointment for condo or home searches. If you're looking at buying I'd love to help! Go to my website now at www.ChrisTesch.com or www.BCSRealEstateNews.com to see current listings.
I moved to College Station around 8 years ago. I was a Texas tranplant already and had been in Houston for many a sweltering summer (around 18) when the call came in. We were going to move to College Station. I knew nothing about College Station other than they weren't "tea sippers" (whatever that was supposed to mean) and that they had a University located here. A trip up this way got me a bit more excited, but still...I was moving my kids from everything they knew, and a English tudor on 1/3 acre that had been lovingly, with blood, sweat and tears remodeled into our dream home.
I got up here on a cool morning in May, just me and the two kids that could come (my oldest was finishing his freshman year of high school in Houston). My youngest was about to turn five a few days later. My husband was responsible for moving the server to CS from Houston, and was working what turned out to be around 78 hours straight during that time. I was friendless, missing my oldest child and trying desperately not to show it to my little two. I got the cake and decided to take them to a park for the birthday celebration. They were merrily swinging on the swings and sliding down slides while I talked to a small group of mothere on the playground. I mentioned what was happening and, lo and behold friendships were formed. The four of them ralleyed around and with their kids sang "Happy Birthday" to my birthday boy. We all shared cake and laughs and had quite a wonderful party. That's what Bryan/College Station is all about. Wonderful friendships and a sense of commeraderee. Helping others and never forgetting to say "Howdy!".
