Lost Pet...Hope Someone Can Help!

As realtors, we are out driving around all the time... I'm posting this lost pet link in hopes that someone has seen this wonderful dog. I know the family is heartbroken....

Pet Safety...

I don't know if anyone was watching the morning news... but a chihuahua was attacked by a "hawk" yesterday in Sugar Land. This is something I repeatedly warn my clients about...when buying on the west side of Houston, Katy, Fulshear, Sugar Land. It wasn't all that long ago that we were rice fields and cattle pastures. The wildlife is still here... In fact, the predatory birds such as "hawks" and "owls" and also the "Ospreys", which migrate through here, have figured out that there hunting has improved. Small dogs and cats, anything in the 4-7lb range, are meal-sized to these large birds. In fact, one of my friends actually stood in terror as her cat was carried off by a large hawk... needless to say there was nothing she could do about it. So, I have rambled enough... but please do not leave your small pets unattended in the back yard, day or night... they are prey!

9th Annual YMCA Turkey Dash - Cinco Ranch

Happy Thanksgiving! The KatyHomeConnections Team decided to run the YMCA Turkey Dash today. The "Y" is located right across from "The Villagio" on Westheimer Parkway. The race organizers expected about 4,000 people to run today...and I bet everyone of them was present. The weather was fabulous and we both finished, so we were happy. Happy to be there, happy to be healthy enough to do the run, and happy that so many people can gather for good causes. In any case, as I was walking back to my car...I was listening to a group of "complainers"...they were complaining about all the people that were in their way during the race... the walkers, the strollers, etc. Come on guys, you are not elite runners ... as most of us are not elite runners, there was plenty of room to run past folks that are slower than you... I passed some people and some people passed me...no big deal ... the only elite runners there were allowed to start in the front of the pack. They numbered about six... I know because I counted them as they were going past me in about the first 15 minutes. There will always be "complainers", especially in events such as this... anytime you exercise there will always be excuses...my side hurts, my sinuses hurt, it's too cold, I have a cramp, I can't find my rhythm (which today I couldn't), I hit the wall... you name it, there's an excuse. To make a long story, short... in the words of the "Black Eyed Peas"... "let's do it"... and let's just keep on doing it, because it makes you feel good, it gives you energy, it keeps you young, ...SO, STOP COMPLAINING, MAN-UP, and have a great THANKSGIVING!
