IS YOUR LIFE LIKE A DANDELION?

istock_000001921014xsmall1Remember being young, possibly racing to the only dandelion you saw, hoping to beat your brother or sister?

I do.

You pick this dandelion that is white and fluffy with seeds and try to be really careful not to let the wind cause any part of your masterpiece to disappear.

The thrill of being the breath that will losen, release the seeds to fly away with the wind made me a fast runner. I won!

Gently, pulling it from it’s warm bed, I would bring it to my mouth, enhale a deep breath and softly blow till the puffy white was all gone.

Where do the seeds fly to? It never entered my mind.

Something happened with the finality of my ‘Angel Girl’ dying last week. It was and still is hard to grasp that at 1:26 a.m. she was no longer with us. As my daughter said, “She exhaled”. Her last breath became part of the air I breathed. What is left of her? Pictures, a grave to visit daily, memories in my mind and that my family shares. She didn’t have puppies. Nothing from her physically, viewed, lived on. Just a hole in our hearts.

Your life…

What will live on when it’s time for you to exhale? Will there be memories that seem to fade with time or pictures that one day someone will ask, “Who is that?” and no one will be able to express in detail what you were like, your passions, your likes and dislikes?

Do you live your days to just get by and make sure your family is provided for? BUT nothing to stamp your seal on? Your children, if it’s His will you have any, will carry your personalities, memories, mannerisms but what will be your thoughts, words left behind?

Do you do things that pay it forward? Your kind words, random acts of kindness that make someone’s day brighter and in turn they touch someone searching for something, needing their day brightened.

Like a dandelion seeds that have been scattered on the wind, we scatter. The seeds land and a beautiful flower blooms and becomes a field of colors.

Where you are at, can you bloom?

Yes, you can. There is no better time than the present to claim your stake in how you will be remembered and not just exhale, being air someone else is breathing in.

What are ways you can make sure you are remembered and that your life wasn’t just another, forgotten?

I’m making my life be remembered by sharing my thoughts, my ideas, my life with others. My singing is on a CD. I wrote a song about my childhood, “Who Would’ve Known” and put it on my site, sung by another. My thoughts are on blogs, papers, journals, letters, cards. My voice is inside a build-a-bear, inside a picture frame. I have already written a letter and sealed it, to my children, that explains my choices in this life. I don’t want them guessing or assuming. I am not ashamed. My choices will help them make better ones because they will see what my choices got me, whether it be heartache or no ache.

Share your ideas with me below. I would love more ways that my life will be remembered. Wouldn’t you?

Bouncing Back!

Valentine's Day was a special day for my husband and I. We are both Reatlors and had floor duty together. I thought it would be a quiet day for us to spend together but it turned out to be anything but quiet!

At Exit Realty Clarksville, we are in a prime location to help anyone looking for a rental or home. We are located off of Trenton Road next to the Sonic, off of Exit 1.

As we arrived for floor duty around 9:00 a.m. we thought the sky looked like it was going to rain and thought it would be a day to get work accomplished with organizing files and catching up with customers who are looking to purchase or rent from our website, Last Train To Clarksville. I always had the feeling, starting in November of last year, that this year was going to be one of the best years for Real Estate. I believe we started bouncing back full swing on Valentine's Day. At least, for our Team.

Around 10:00 a.m. I invited a new agent that has come aboard, Jenna Eaton, to come to the office so that I could help her with any files, information for buyers, etc... to help jump start her career. She hadn't been in the office more than 20 minutes and then it seemed as if the gate had been open!

Yesterday from 10 - 12:00, my husband and I pre-qualified 5 couples through Amanda Dusenberry, who is with Anchor Mortgage and can be found on my Real Estate/Blog site. Last night we produced a contract! While Art was out showing homes to one, I had a couple in 1 office, another in the conference room and another at our front desk, while a renter was waiting to be pre-qualed.

At first, I felt overwhelmed by the rush but immediately took charge. My broker happened to come in and I asked her if she wouldn't mind showing the renter some homes on our MLS. She was wonderful! After they looked, she invited them to eat at her Pizza restaurant, Gatti's Pizza, next door while I called in one of the Real Estate agents on my Team and she took the couple to view homes after they ate. I scheduled the other 3, back to back.

Here in Clarksville, TN we are bouncing back!

What a wonderful gift, huh. "Honey, Happy Valentine's Day!" So, how about Presidents Day?

We have a special that just might be for you! Get into the home you want, no money down and bring as low as $17 to the closing table! Last night I negotiated a deal for my clients to get into their home, no money down and bringing $0 to the table! That is what having a professional Realtor and Mortgage Loan Officer can do for you.

If you are interested in purchasing a home or renting, please give us a call at 931.206.2156 or email us at: TeamAgnew@bellsouth.net

If you would like to just call Amanda and see what your payments would be, she can be reached at 931.980.3999 (cell).

Don't let the fear of the economy, what the national news is saying (even the local Nashville news, since they aren't a market like Clarksville), keep you from achieving the goal of home ownership!

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Response to Simulus Package, Senator Corker

Dear Mrs. Agnew,

Thank you for contacting my office regarding tax rebates for Social Security and VA disability recipients in addition to Homeowner Assistance Plan financial relief for military and wounded warrior homeowners in the economic stimulus package, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Your input is important to me, and I appreciate the time you took to share your thoughts.

I know right now our country is experiencing tremendous economic turmoil and people are hurting. My heart goes out to all those who find themselves in financial situations that in many cases are beyond their control. I assure you that the difficulties being faced by Tennesseans during these times of economic uncertainty and hardship are of the utmost concern to me, and my staff and I will be using all the resources and options at our disposal to help in the months ahead.

While I share your concern regarding our veterans and service members and believe that many of the programs receiving funds in the stimulus package have merit, I believe that these funding issues are more appropriately considered in the normal appropriations process rather than through emergency spending. Going forward, I am hopeful that we will take a deliberate approach to this year's appropriations process that will not only ensure that worthy projects receive the funding they need, but also maintain a fiscally responsible approach guaranteeing long-term economic growth.

As you may know, I was not able to support the stimulus package and I believe our priority should be to address the problems in our credit markets and get banks lending again. Additionally we need to take steps to improve the challenges in the housing market. I certainly applaud those who worked together in a bipartisan way to try to improve the legislation, but trying to make this package 10 percent better, while admirable, is not really doing our country the justice that it deserves. Until the housing and credit markets are dealt with in a serious and real way, I believe that anything else we do for the economy is just throwing good money after bad.

Despite not being able to support this package, I look forward to working with Governor Bredesen in any way I can to ensure that the money provided to Tennessee is put to its greatest use possible to enhance the economic opportunity for all Tennesseans. And as we move forward, I hope to continue working with the White House and Congress to try and deal appropriately with the continuing housing and credit crisis, which I believe are essential to this spending having the stimulative effect needed to restart our economy.

Thank you again for your letter. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts with me.

Sincerely,

Bob Corker

United States Senator
