Pet Tips for Denver Luxury Apartment Residents

If you are a pet owner, we all know that you want what's best for them. Let's face it; they're the ones waiting lovingly at the door when you get home, so why not do all that you can to ensure they are comfortable and happy. Here are a few tips to help you and your pet enjoy your apartment home.

• Pet friendly apartments are out there, you may just have to make an extra effort to find the right one. To help in your search you can always go online, most listing services have search features that enable you to look for properties that accept pets.
• Once you find a pet friendly apartment, make sure you are up front about being a pet owner. Be prepared to disclose this info and inquire about pet policies. This way there aren't any surprises for you or the apartment complex. You would never want to run the risk of being evicted or having to pay back pet fees.
• Remember you're responsible for any damage your pet creates. A good way to stay on top of any indoor pet issues, is to try and clean your carpet on a regular basis to rid your apartment of animal smells and hair.
• Some complexes have dog only areas or special areas where your dog can run. The Breakers Resort in Denver, has a small dog park just for dog owners to let "Fido" run around. Make sure to follow the complex's rules on where dogs are allowed and always be sure to clean up after your pet when outdoors. Always be considerate of your neighbors, this makes everybody's home life enjoyable.
• Make sure your pet has a quite spot in your apartment for its bed, possibly a spot out of the way of drafts. Your pet should also have easy access to it's food dishes and liter box. And remember there may be hidden dangers in your apartment; pet owners should be careful of poorly secured window screens, long mini blind cords, and you should always make sure there is nothing harmful left out that can be ingested by your pet.

Memorial Day Weekend Celebrations in Denver,Colorado

Memorial Day commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemetaries and memorials of loved ones. In addition to remembrance, Memorial Day is also used as a time for picnics, barbeques, and family gatherings. It's known as an "unofficial" beginning to Summer activities. Some celebrations to participate in this coming weekend are:

• Denver's Annual Memorial Day Pararde is being held in Downtown Denver on Saturday May 23rd, at 10 a.m. Come see hundreds of veterans march in the parade to honor America's soldiers.
• Also in Downtown this weekend, you will find the 11th Annual Downtown Denver Arts Festival. Come out to see hundreds of fine art and fine craft exhibits by Colorado's best artists. This event is held at the Denver Pavilions.
• If anyone in your family is interested in dinosaurs or flowers, make sure to visit Jurassic Gardens-Evolution and Extinction at Denver Botanic Gardens. This is a unique exhibit showcasing several prehistoric creatures displayed in gardens of prehistoric plants and their modern relatives. This exhibit is in town through September 30, 2009.
• The 30th Annual Old South Gaylord Memorial Day Weekend Festival will be held this weekend. This is a Free family oriented festival that is fun for all ages. Enjoy music, games, food and over 75 vendors at this celebration.
