Winter Energy Saving Tips for Apartment Living

Here are some winter time energy (and money) saving tips for apartment living. In these difficult economic times, who doesn't want to save a little money, right?! Here are a few ideas to try in your apartment home today:

1. Turn the lights off when your not in the room.
2. Replace old light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs.
3. Un-plug electronics, appliances, etc. when not in use.
4. Un-plug cell phone chargers, camera chargers, when not in use.
5. Set thermostat to 65 degrees during the day when not at home.
6. Leave curtains/blinds open during the day on South facing windows to help heat home.

Denver Luxury Apartments-The Breakers Resort Hosts Popular Casino Night

This upcoming Saturday (January 17th) The Breakers Resort will host their annual Casino Night. It's free to play and you don't have to be a resident to attend the event. Test your luck at Blackjack, Texas Hold Em, Craps and Roulette.

The event will be held inside The Catamaran Club at The Breakers Resort and all bets begin at 7pm. Chips will be counted at 9pm and prizes will be awarded to the top three chip holders.

Baby it's cold outside - Freeze Warning Tips

It doesn't matter if you live in an apartment or a house, when the weather drops below freezing you always have to be careful of frozen pipes in Colorado.
Here are some tips to help prevent freezing pipes and water damage.

• NEVER turn your heat off if you leave town
• Leave the thermostat set to 65 degrees (or above)
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to warm the pipes
• Leave your faucets running with a "small drip"
• Remove garden hoses from outside and drain the hoses
• Do NOT leave the garden hoses connected to outside faucets!
