Tony & Darcy Cannon - The C Team

Foto Friday Mountain Waterfall

Once again this is a photo from Provo Canyon in Northern Utah. It is very beautful. I didn't take a photo of the more famous Bridal Veil Falls, but rather a smaller waterfall a little East of Bridal Veil Falls. Like I said in my other Foto Friday Post, you can see why I love calling Utah home! The sky was really hazy, but we thought that it was still really beautiful!

Foto Friday Timp's Majesty.................

Darcy and I should have taken a lot more photos while we were at the Utah Association of Realtors Convention, but we didn't. This photo was taken at the East Side of Provo Canyon. This is a photograph of the Majestic Mount Timpanogas. While it is in Northern Utah and not my beloved Southern Utah, it is easy to see why it is that keeps me here in this beautiful, majestic State that I call home!

Casino Night.............

On Tuesday Night at the Utah Association of Realtors convention, they had a get together that included a casino night. Everyone was given $1000 of play money to buy chips and you could play all sorts of casino games. At the end there was a drawing for gifts, everyone got 1 entry then for every $1000 dollars in chips or play money you could get another entry ticket.

It was fun to play Black Jack, Texas Hold'em and Roulette with no pressure of losing my own money or really any money at all. There was no pressure, so we could experiment with games that we had no idea how to play. Darcy did really well with Texas Hold'em. I didn't do as well! I did like learning how to play Roulette, I had never dared to try to learn to play before. In all it was a lot of fun.

How does this relate to Real Estate? I am not completely sure. I think that some agents forget and think that they're not playing with their own money so there is no pressure to perform or do well. That isn't true, we are playing with someone else's money. It isn't play money, there are things that we need to do to make sure that our buyers and sellers are taken care of.

We can't pretend to guarantee that we can sell all of our listings, but we can do everything that we know how, to market a property so that it will sell. We can also educate our sellers to make sure that they understand the importance of properly pricing from the outset of the listing, that things need to be cleaned up, and that there is a lot of competition out there, so their listing needs to outshine other listings.

For our buyers we have to get things moving, there is $8000 sitting on the table that they may qualify for, as long as they get the deal done by November 30th. We also need to make sure that they are getting the best deal possible for the buyer. I also think that there are a lot of other things that we can do to make the task easier on the buyers and sellers, things like communicating with them, working for them, and making sure that they understand the entire process.

Anyway, this was a thought that I had as I was playing on Casino Night, that it was fun, it was really not like anyone was losing, it was just a game!

Utah Association of Realtors Convention.............

What a great convention! There were some great classes where some fantastic teachers presented a lot of great ideas for us to take to be more successful. I will admit that a lot of it is stuff that everyone has heard before, but I think that one of the great lessons that I hope that I have learned is that we have to know what is wrong before we can suggest a solution.

That means that we were reminded to shut up and let the client tell us what they're looking for prior to going into all of our ways to fix the situation. It seems that is something that I need to hear every month or two, I have a hard head! Anyway, I will be going through my notes to see of there is something else that I can share with my friends here at the 'Rain!

One other thing, as good as the convention was, it is really good to be home! I can't wait to sleep in my own bed tonight!

Snap Shot Saturday...All Gave Some, Some Gave All

Darcy and I went around Cedar City taking pictures, we made a mistake, we didn't recharge the camera battery, so we will need to do it again, but we stopped at the Veterans Memorial Park in Cedar City. The park is located at 200 East 200 North in Cedar City.
