I have been working on ideas for marketing to other agents the new subdivision, Skyline Ridge, in Copperas Cove Texas. My marketing coordinator designed custom labels and packaged 4 chocolate candies along with my business card and a flyer so that we can hand them out to other agents in town. What ideas have you used in marketing new homes that have worked well for you?

Here in the Fort Hood Texas area, we have not been affected by the housing crash like other areas of the country, however, we have some decline in prices. Because of that, there has not been a better time to buy a home in a long time. Another reason that it is a good time to buy is because of the low interest rates. Many of our buyers use their VA loan which is great - so that they do not have to put any money down. In addition to the VA loan program, there is a program through the state of Texas called the Texas Veterans Land Board. It is not just for land though. Most local lenders can explain the TexVet program to the buyers. The Texas Veteran Interest Rates remained low this week, at 4.6%. There is also a 1/2% deduction for our disabled veterans of 30% or more.

New Construction in Copperas Cove from under $100,000 is now available in Skyline Ridge Subdivision. Skyline Ridge Subdivision is located just off Big Divide Road in Copperas Cove. Skyline Ridge is located just 5 miles from Fort Hood's back gate making it convenient access to Fort Hood.

We had two of our closings delayed today in the Fort Hood area due to SNOW!! The first is a new construction home in Skyline Ridge Subdivison in Copperas Cove. This home was waiting for the permanent electric meter when the rolling blackouts and bad weather hit the Fort Hood area this past week. The electric company was too busy with emergencies to install the meter, thus delaying the closing. In the mean time, the water line froze at the water meter. The builder has to wait until the electric meter to be installed so that they can fix the pipe without it freezing over again. The second closing was also a new construction home, this one in the House Creek North subdivision. Our buyer is moving from an area about 2 1/2 hours north of Fort Hood and he had over 4 inches of snow/ice at his house.

The 1 inch of snow we got today caused all of the schools to be closed, most all businesses to be closed, and delay our closings :( I do not see how all the folks up north function in the winter!!!
