Harmony Hill is a subdivision of detached homes in Silver Spring Md. 20906. The Community is bounded on the west by Connecticut Ave, on the north by Aspen Hill Road, the west by the south bound lanes Georgia Ave. just north of Hewitt Ave. The homes in this subdivision are primarily Split Foyer homes, ranging in size from just over 1000 sq ft of living space to near 1800 sq ft. These home range form 3 bedrooms to 6 bedrooms, built between 41 to 53 years ago. The lots range ins size from .14 of an acre to near one third an acre.
Public transportation runs along Georgia Ave, and Connecticut Ave. Montgomery County Ride-On bus route34 runs down Connecticut Ave, which can get you to the Wheaton METRO and shopping, the Medical Center METRO, and the Bethesda METRO and shopping. Also going down Connecticut Ave is route41 which can be used to reach the Glenmont METRO Station.
The WMATA L8 bus also runs along Connecticut Ave and will take the rider to Chevy Chase and the Friendship Heights METRO station. The WMATA Y5,8 routes run north along Georgia Ave and will take the rider to Olney/Montgomery General Hospital to the north, and south on Georgia Ave to Wheaton and downtown Silver Spring.
A Feb 24, 2008 check of the Montgomery County Public School Locator reveals that the Elementary Schools that handle the community is Harmony Hill ES (right there in the community on Lydia Street), the middle school for the community is Parkland MS, and the high school for the area is Kennedy HS.
The closet shopping centers, both within walking distance of the community are the Northgate Shopping Center on the north side Aspen Hill Rd.; and Aspen Hill Shopping Center which backup to the north west side of the community.
The closet county library is Aspen Hill Library is a short walk from the community along Aspen Hill Rd. The Wheaton Library can be reached via the Y5-8 bus down Georgia Ave.
