Maintenance tips for Labor Day

Winter's Coming ..............better get ready

- Look for cracks and holes in house siding or paint. Now is the time to caulk if necessary.
- While its still warm enough to leave the windows open paint the interior rooms you have been putting off
- Check heating system including filters, pilot lights, and burners, and have the system serviced by a qualified professional.
- Drain hot water heater. Flush and refill.
- Clean and vacuum dust from vents, baseboard heaters and cold-air returns.
- Check that foundations are properly graded. Soil should slope four to six inches for a distance of three feet out from the foundation walls.
- If you haven't already, check basement for cracks or leaks. Seal if necessary.
- If you have a sump pump, test, clean and lubricate.
- Wash out garbage cans, disinfect, and then rinse thoroughly

The lack of quality in your pictures can be the deal killer

More than ever before, buyers are conducting property searches online. 74% of home-buyers who used the web to search for homes drove by or viewed a home they saw online. Listings lacking multiple photos, or using low quality photos, run the risk of being passed over. Incorporating new venues, like virtual tours, give buyers a view of the property right from their desk. Here are some tips to increase the face value of your home's online listing photo:

Crop out sidewalks, streets and remove vehicles from the driveway.

Steer clear of the shade and get up-close or angled photos.

For exterior shots, make sure the kid's toys are put away and remove evidence of pets.

If you decide to include a virtual tour, incorporate music or commentary to stimulate interest.

With so much research and house hunting done on the web let us help you build a visual tour for your property to reach as many potential buyers as possible.

You have to go to Courtney's Barbeque

Let me tell you something new I have discovered. Being from Eastern North Carolina I am a HUGE fan of great barbeque. I've tried lots in my days and even though nothing compares to the Eastern North Carolina style that I love we found a place tonight that makes the drive worth it. In Clover, SC which is probably 20 miles or so from Rock Hill, SC is Courtney's Barbeque. For quite some time I have heard people talk about how good Courtney's was we had to go and discover it for ourselves. Their chopped barbeque is pretty darn good. Tim had the ribs, brisket (one of his favorites), chopped barbeque and barbeque chicken. Needless to say when we left we were stuffed and happy. Courtney's has a friendly atmosphere and your order comes out lightning fast. The menu features the above mentioned items plus salads, wings, hamburger steaks, chicken sandwiches, fried chicken and so much for. No matter what you crave you can find it at Courtney's. Gene Courtney has done a tremendous job building the reputation of this establishment and it is definitely one you need to put on your list to try and do it soon. You will be thrilled and satisfied and full to the gills. Hurry and enjoy.
