How do we correct the poor reputation that real estate agents have?

A very simple question, but I am afraid the answers is not. I think the only thing we can do is each act in a professional manner and let our clients defend the group. That means returning calls, not taking overpriced listings, researching prices for our buyers not just the sellers and dressing professionally. Explaining what is happening each step of the way also helps reduce stress for our clients.

Would like to hear what other agents, buyers and sellers have to say.

Is the end in sight?

Bidding wars on bank owned property! This has been happening now for about a month in Southeast Michigan. The tax credit must take some credit, but the investors are returning also. Hope everyone waiting for the bottom is ready to jump in, if we are not there, we can see it from here.

Clients typically wait until the prices stabilize, as proven by the upward pressure so end up buying on the upside of the graph. The difference between buying now and buying on the upswing is the interest rates are lower now. Think a few investors realize that. Let the bidding begin.

Is everyone moving from franchises to small offices?

Is it just me or is there a growing trend toward smaller local independent offices? I noticed some of the top agents in this market going out on their own, or joining forces. I just joined the Independent Broker Network office in Clarkston and after much thought and research decided it would allow me to serve my clients equally as well as the national firm did. They have top producers in both commercial and residential real estate, so going into the office is like attending a "Masterminds" meeting. No this is not a commercial, just would like some other thoughts on the pros and cons of a small independent office.

Forclosed home lists

Clients are always looking for foreclosed home lists. My advice to them is to use my web site IDX search, Choose the area(s) you want, make the square footage high and the price low. Then who cares if it is bank owned or private owned, it is potentially a great deal! Never pay for a foreclosed list in my area, they are on the MLS. Just visit http://FredPoehlman.com go to property search, Search for homes in your area and have fun. You will not have to register, but will be glad to aswer your questions and hellp you in the process.
