In our high tech world of real estate, I often think about what matters most to our clients. You know...the real people that want to be treated the same way we want to be treated. The single mom, the widow, the elderly couple, the first time home buyer. Are they looking for the latest podcast, virtual tour, text message, website, etc.? Well sure those can be good marketing tools. But, what are they really looking for?
Time and time again we have found that people want good old fashioned CUSTOMER SERVICE. The personal notes, the personal visit, the personal phone call, the smile, the handshake, the hug(when appropriate). Clients have feelings. Clients want to feel remembered, they want to feel special. They want to know you are genuinely interested in their well being and not just another paycheck.
We all have to make a living, but if we treat our clients the way we want to be treated, we will make a great living and an even better life.
In our technology driven age, we need to get back to the basics of relational selling and serving. Referrals are our best friend. Happy clients are a dream come true.
Do you agree?
I was just wondering how many of you Realtors out there are carrying concealed handguns for personal protection. I realize some states probably allow it and some do not. You've all heard the horror stories I'm sure of Realtors being raped, beaten and murdered. We've heard about mace and all the other sprays.
Just Curious...are any of you carrying a concealed weapon such as a handgun?
Does anyone have a personal story, suggestion or opinion on this topic? I would love to hear your views.
You might also comment on what you think our newly elected leaders will do, if anything, about the 2nd amendment in general. Do any of you have any stories about your buyer and seller homeowners who have had to use firearms to defend their lives?
Thanks in advance to your comments to this somewhat controversial subject!
If people have not heard of Lubbock,TX by now, they must be asleep. Yes, I've heard the same things...it's out in the middle of nowhere, it's podunk, it's where the wind and dirt blow, why would you live in Lubbock, TX,etc.etc.
Texas Tech University is located in Lubbock, TX. If you haven't heard of Texas Tech, you must not be a football fan. You must not pay attention to mens and womens basketball either. Lubbock Christian University is also located in Lubbock and so is Wayland Baptist University. Lubbock is the home of state of the art medical facilities. Don't forget about Buddy Holly. Where do you think all the cotton comes from? Well, cotton fields surround Lubbock as do oil wells.
Lubbock was recently noted in a study by Veros for having the 2nd strongest housing market prediction for 2009 in the United States. Business Week placed Lubbock in their top 20 cities to live in. Lubbock is not the most coveted place to visit, but it is a great place to live and raise a family. It must be the restaurant capital of the world. I've heard it said that we may have one of the highest percentages of restaurants per capita.
Last, but not least, Lubbock housing is VERY AFFORDABLE and NO, NOT EVERYONE IS FORECLOSING ON HOUSES HERE. The Lubbock Housing Market is strong and hopefully we will weather the recession. If you would like to know more about Lubbock Real Estate, we would love to share!
WHETHER BUYING OR SELLING...IT'S ALWAYS A SELLERS MARKET!!!
p.s. Lubbock is located approximately 550 miles northwest of Houston, 350 miles west/northwest of Dallas, 120 miles south of Amarillo and I could go on and on. It is in Northwest Texas and we would love to help you call it home.
Wow! What a great time of the year! The temperature is cooling off, the leaves are changing colors, the holidays are upon us,etc. Texas Tech has had an incredible football season so far. Can you believe they are undefeated and ranked as high as number 2 in the nation after upsetting University of Texas Longhorns and stomping Oklahoma State.
Lubbock is an exciting place to be right now. The weather is wonderfully gorgeous, the football games are exciting, Lubbock was recently listed as the number 2 strongest real estate city in the United States and the blessings go on and on. Senior citizen retirement communities such as Carillon are offering great deals on housing right now. Interest rates continue to stay low for buyers of all kinds. Sellers are seeing short days on market. The Lubbock economy is strong. Lubbock is ranked in the top 20 cities in which to live.

WHETHER BUYING OR SELLING...IT'S ALWAYS A SELLERS MARKET!
So, what's next in our nation? What will the next announcement be from Washington, Wall Street or anywhere else for that matter? Who will be the president and vice president? Most of us have strong opinions about these things, but when everything settles down, what will real estate be like? Yes, people are still talking doom and gloom for our profession. People act as if the sky has fallen. Maybe it has in certain places. However, the creative Realtor can and will survive, if not thrive in any market. Our shifting markets can challenge us, as well as our clients. Our job is to stay on top of the situation and be able to be a true fiduciary to our clients. We should be the experts of our industry. Our clients will trust us if we prove to be honest and knowledgable in our current local markets.
Last week FHA rates were around 7%. This week, one of our buyers locked in at 6.25% on FHA. Rates will go up and down as always. People will continue to move. People still need jobs. They still accept promotions and demotions. In other words, people will move up and move down in price. People will relocate from one market to another. New jobs will be created. Others will fade away. The bottom line is that people will always be transitioning. Thank goodness interest rates aren't at 18%! Put things in proper perspective. Keep your head up!
What's next? Who really knows for sure? The only thing we know is that change will take place and realtors, sellers and buyers must adapt to shifting markets.
Home ownership is still a great thing!
