Newly staged in Murrieta, CA

Kathy Steimle who works in Showhomes Riverside emailed me this photo of a $1.5 million dollar home in Murrieta, CA they staged this week with a live in Home Manager:

Before - this home has been on the market for almost a year and little to no traffic. Murrieta, like much of southern CA, is a foreclosure capital with tons of vacant bank-owned homes clogging up the market. Here is Kathy's after shot of the same room (taken from the other side):

Wow - what a transformation. Showhomes has been selling homes in Southern CA and hopefully, this one will move quickly!

Newly Staged in Portland - Sold in 3 Weeks!

Newly Staged in Portland - Sold in 3 Weeks!

Edie Moll from Showhomes Portland, one of our newest Showhomes franchise locations, emailed these photos of a home they staged the first week of September. The comfortable home had been on the market for some time and like lots of new construction, was sitting vacant with little activity and no buyers.

The home went under contract Monday and the offer was accepted yeserday! That's less than 30 days to sell!

Way to go - the clean staging made all the difference!

Here are some photos:

Congrats to Edie Moll, Kathy Haase and their expert staff in Portland!

Even with the crash, some things are still selling - staging works.

Just Staged in Newport Coast, CA

Beth George, owner of Showhomes LA just emailed me these pics of a newly staged $2.5 million dollar home they recently contracted in Newport Coast, CA:

Beth and her crew, Laura Fisher, Faris George and Craig Brown, have been doing a great job producing sales with staging in a truly slow market. Anyone who works in real estate in Southern CA knows what a challenging business it is these days. High quality product like this makes all the difference!

I especially like the vintage dresser in the otherwise modern bedroom. I think adding more personalized pieces like that makes the home look 'less staged' and that usually makes a difference in how 'sticky' the home is. Using real live plants throughout really adds lots of life to the home, too.

Amazing Loft Staging in Minneapolis

Cindy Montgomery, owner of the Showhomes Minneapolis franchise emailed me these photos of an urban loft she recently staged:

What a great job! I love the look and feel. It's still edgy and modern but has enough soft touches that it will reach a larger audience. The live plants and pond yacht really make it pop for me.

Luxury Living at Low Price?

Luxury Living at Low Price?

homeNational home prices fell last month, a record 15.4 percent, and that's from just one year ago. Arkansas numbers haven't yet been released for July, but numbers haven't been promising this year.

So what if you could get a million dollar mansion for just over a thousand? It could be a possibility through a home staging company, but there are a few stipulations.

We're told right now, the homes on the market that just aren't selling are the expensive homes. Anything over $500,000 is sitting on the market for quite a bit longer than those in the $200,000 range, and that's why one local company gives you the opportunity to live in homes like these, at an affordable price.

The luxury of living in $750,000 home may seem like a dream. But with the housing market in a slump, this dream home may be more of a reality than you imagine.

"This house normally would rent for $4,000 or $5,000, but a home manager could stay here for $1,300 a month, which is a bargain," Heidi Ross with Showhomes in Central Arkansas said.

It's called Showhomes, and what you're doing as a home manager is occupying the house while it's on the market.

"The builders and realtors understand someone living in a home gives the competitive edge," Ross said.

In central Arkansas a $500,000 Showhome rents for 1,200 a month. $400,000 would rent for $900 to $1,000, and $250,000 would cost you $800 a month. Seem too good to be true? Well, it could be, if you're not tidy.

"You have to keep it nice and picked up from 8 in the morning, until 8 at night because there could be a showing," Ross said.

You also have to provide your own furniture, and no pets or smoking. But if you're willing to comply, you could live like a king, on a budget. That is, until someone actually buys the home you're occupying. At that point, if you're too attached to living in luxury, you can be moved to another Showhome.
