Harris Teeter opened last week in Westhaven, Franklin's popular traditional neighborhood design community. Westhaven features beautiful architechural design in townhouse style condos and single family homes. The community includes a 200 acre golf course. The town center will include various services like a dry cleaner and ice cream shop. Westhaven is one of a handful of Tennessee Communities that have a full-time activities director.
This new grocery store also serves other Franklin neighborhoods on the west side of town such as Franklin Green, Spencer Hall, Founders Pointe, Carlise, Clairmonte and Willow Springs. Below is information about available homes in these and other Franklin neighborhoods.

The City of Franklin begins projects to extend the sewer to various neighborhoods that currently have one-acre lots on septic. Sewer connections have already begun in Highgate and Hopper Lane in July and August, respectively. Construction has started in Monticello, Meadowgreen, Hillsboro Acres and parts of Farmington but no connections have been made in these areas. The City of Franklin is evaluating extension of the sewer system to Gardner Estates and Boyd Mill Avenue.
Additionally, these areas with septic are in the Franklin Urban Growth Boundary: Oakwood, Redwing Farms, Redwing Meadows, Ellington Park, Leeland, Windsor Park, Douglas Glen, Goose Creek Estates, Green Valley, Breckenridge, Barrington, Cross Creek and Cedarmont Farms
What does the extension of sewer service mean for home owners? Special Assessments will be made after construction is complete and costs are known. Special Assessments are fees levied by the city to cover costs for improvements or services provided that benefit the property. These assessments may be paid over time. Property owners will not be required to connect to the sewer if their septic system is working properly. The home owner will have fees for the permit, connection and plumber services when the property is connected to the sewer system. Proper disposal of the septic system will be required once connected to sewer. Monthly sewer service fees will be billed to home owners when connected or 10 days after notice to connect even if they choose to remain on septic. It should be noted that once sewer is available, properties sold will be required to connect if the buyer is getting an FHA loan.

Franklin Green Subdivision is located on the west side of Franklin approximately two miles from the historic downtown square. The community includes over 55% undeveloped common areas including open, grassy fields and walking trails in the wooded sections. Other community amenities include a large pool, a wading pool and a playground.
Many Franklin Green home sites back up to wooded common area. Franklin Green streetscape includes underground utilities, street trees, sidewalks and a mix of architectural styles. Home sizes range from approximately 1,250 to 3,100 heated square feet. The homes were built between 1997 and 2004. Franklin Green is located close to Historic Downtown Franklin and Jim Warren Park. This park includes baseball fields, football fields, tennis courts, pavilions and the new 16,000 square foot skate park. There are two grocery stores located within a 5 minute drive of Franklin Green. This neighborhood is zoned to Williamson County schools - Winstead Elementary, Hillsboro Middle and Independence High.

Sterling Oaks Subdivision is located off of Edmondson Pike on the south side of Nashville, TN. The neighborhood includes approximately 125 homes. Homes in Sterling Oaks have Brentwood mailing addresses but are actually located in Nashville. Home sizes range from approximately 2,200 to 3,800 heated square feet. Most homes in this area were built between 1999 and 2002. Sterling Oaks is zoned to Metro Davidson County schools - Granbery Elementary, Henry Oliver Middle and Overton High.
