Home sales keep rising in Lake County, Florida

07-17-09
Tina Allen

For the month of June, Lake County sold 387 homes. Sales are slowly but surely rising. Now, the prices housesoldare obviously lower due to many foreclosures, short-sales and bank owned properties being sold, but, I am optimistic that the "playing field" will level out.

What are you seeing in your area?

Let us all remember the reasons of Our Independance Day! While we are enjoying our family, friends, Happy 4thfood and fireworks, please take a moment to give thanks to our soldiers and those that are risking their lives so that we may enjoy all that we have.

Patriotism is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.

It finally happened!!

06-24-09
Tina Allen

I cannot believe it....it has finally happened! I did not think we would see this day for a very long time, if buy/sellever. I wish I had DVR'd it. I was not prepared. I wonder if anyone else caught it. I am sure no one else was paying attention. Maybe they will do it again. Could we be that lucky?

The news reported......yep! You guessed it, they reported house sales are up and rising. I don't even remember which station. Now, I am flipping all over....I just want to hear it again. House sales are rising! Woo Hoo!!

I sometimes will stop listening to the news....they never, and I mean never, seem to report on anything positive. And if there is something positive, they twist it all around and it comes out negative. I just can't watch....it depresses me too much.

But, while in the middle of doing something else, I overheard the great news. It's not that I already didn't know, I follow the trends and pay attention to what is going on in my market and those around me, but, it's also my business to watch. Most consumers aren't following the data....they are listening to the news. And, they are getting it all wrong (the news). The public believes what they hear and they make decisions based on the fear....the fear they seem to get from listening to the news.

I hope they heard it.....It's hard to get them to believe me when I tell them, but, if the news says it....it must be right!

Now, I just hope they replay that segment over and over again. Get ready....your phones will start ringing with "Did you hear the news?"
