Well according to data recently released by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, SC had a total of 755 educators who earned National Board Certified Teaching status. Greenville led the way by having 77 teachers certified. Each school district had at least 11 teachers certify. Channel 7 has an article on this, and they actually list all the teachers in Upstate school districts who completed received the certification.
It's wonderful that we have so many dedicated teachers who would take the time to get this certification. It says wonderful things about our school system and our educators. KUDOS to all the teachers listed!

Acording to Forbes latest article on Affordable Places to Weather the Downturn, Greenville rounds out the Top 5. The main 3 factors they looked at were affordability, property taxes, and job growth. Greenville has some of the most affordable properties in the country.
Here in Greenville, we have so many wonderful communities to choose from it’s hard to not find a place you’ll love. Plus we are continually growing with new companies moving here all the time. We also still have a good real estate market. Not to mention our gorgeous weather. All in all Greenville is a great place to be!

Laurens County does it again and has secured another company’s relocation to the Upstate. American Titanium will invest $422 million to build a titanium mill.
The titanium mill will prepare raw materials and manufacture and test products. It is estimated that the mill will employ at least 300 people. American Titanium Works is a start up company, currently based in Chicago. The company also wants to hire about 40 engineers in their research facility, which will also be located here in the Upstate. Construction is scheduled to begin by 2010.
It's great to hear good news in these times. I think State and County officials are doing a wonderful job to create a successful future for residents for a long time to come.

If there is one thing hard economic times teaches us, it is to be thankful for the little things and for the every day things. I am thankful for my great life, my good health, and my family. I am also thankful for my friends, my business, and my clients. I am thankful for having a place to call home and for the dinner I will eat today. This year there are so many, who are less fortunate, that will be going without the every day things that a lot of us forget to be thankful for.
