Married to the Business - Till Death Do We Part

In Sickness and In Health...

Well 2008 was a rough year for most of the folks I know. Many of my my colleagues and my clients were beat up by the economic fallout of 2008...me included! However, a shiny ray of hope has been there and still exists for a lucky few with cash on the sidelines, they have picked up Hawaii deals not seen in years. In addition, those not paying cash have gotten some great rates on their loans now that credit is easing and the rates remain incredibly low.

So this is the way I see it for 2009... Like the commitment you make to a life long partner, as a Real Estate professional I made a commitment to this industry. Our national and global economies have made even the most insulated markets catch cold and many are still suffering with an all out flu. So how does it get better? One patient at a time, one day at a time, with commitment by those who are willing to see it through.

Many in the media try to make the Real Estate business out to be a national market industry, but the truth is that Real Estate is a local market industry, with national market influences. I'm making a commitment to stay the course in 2009, in sickness and in health, and till death do we part! Change begins with one person and then by the commitment of a group of people willing to stand by their community at the local level. National change will eventually be the sum total of those individual parts.

Kailua-Kona is my home and my community. It's filled with people, both colleagues and clients, that I call friends. I'll still be here in 2009 with a renewed commitment to help my community get economically healthy. Will you join me in your industry and in your community? Together we'll make the change.

Silly But True - Amazing Tree Goats in Hawaii!

Tree Goats

Amazing & Outrageous Tree Goats

I was driving down picturesque Alii Drive yesterday afternoon and just wished I had my camera! Yes it's true, Hawaii too has the famed Tree Goats. Now this photo is of Goats In Morocco, but these goats must have called the goats here in Kailua Kona on their Goat Phones!

We have plenty of wild goats in the open spaces and undeveloped lands of the Big Island of Hawaii. I see them frequently in little wild herds often right near the road. However, yesterday was the first time I have seen them in the trees! I nearly laughed until I peed my pants. It was just a ridiculous sight.

Well, the variety of amazing flora, fauna and yes now "Goatness" of Hawaii never cease to amaze me. I am thankful Hawaii is my home. A warm ocean breeze, the swaying of a coconut palm tree and a good laugh are hard to beat!

For more, and less silly, information about the community I live in visit my web site here. Have some fun and Google Tree Goats!

I have attended in years past and it was well worth the time and trouble. This year they have thought ahead and are offerring free shuttle service from the Keauhou Shopping center to the resort. Parking at the resort is limited and it can become a mess. If you don't go early on Saturday, I suggest you consider the free shuttle.
